Sorry it's not cars but I bought it to save money on my commute so I can spend it on my capri also it's well retro!
Basically it's a puch maxi moped, the frame number is not tampered with and matches the vin tag and the bikes in great condition but the chap I bought it from didn't have the v5. he did have an HPI but on closer inspection the engine number doesn't match. jolly pain in the backside.
What should I do to try and get the v5 or should I just bin it? Is there a way I can so anythin with the frame number I have?
Sorry for lack of cool pics I'm on Y phone and any help will be rewarded with some pics asap!!!

Well, if there is a number plate on the bike, it's worth sending off a V62 for the logbook, but if there isn't a plate you won't get a logbook on just the frame number.

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

Apply for the V5, if you bought it in good faith you wont get nicked if it turns out to be dodgy although you may lose the bike, you have to pay for V5's now though so it depends how cheap you can buy another 'ped.

Hasn't got a reg plate on it. The Hpi I have seems to be right but the engine number.... Hang on a minute, it does match!! What a spanner. It doesn't have 'vin' on the Hpi just 'engine' number but the engine number on the Hpi matches my frame and vin tag numb so maybe it's had a new motor put in? The Hpi has the reg number on so I can apply now I guess? Does any one know what the tax class is for my 50cc moped? I'm trying to fill the form out now ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

submit V62 available at the post office with your £25 to DVLA, and V5 will arrive in the post, just complete it with the vin that you have...

Have you checked DVLA web site that it's still on their records seeing you now know the reg number ? I assume so seeing comes up on HPi check. I "rescued" a moped out fo a skip and turned out previous owner had sent off V5 showing as scrapped !
