engine
I replaced the engine with one from a mk2 intercooleD turbo diesel mondeo, with 68k on the clock, the engine is very clean as it the whole engine bay (straight bolt in replacement). I put a new cambelt on the engine before I fitted it aswell, and ive done about 3k in the truck since. I also fitted power steering, so its nice to drive and easy to park (makes a world of difference if youve driven a p100 without it) also fitted a a nice front mount intercooler, I was going to turn the boost and fuel up but never got round to getting it done, still pretty nippy as it is. Engine and gearbox are sweet, starts first time every time runs great. Has a short shift kit fitted so nice throw on the gear stick. Also has straight thru exhaust, sounds well this isnt loud but gives a nice turbo noise.
suspension
I also converted the truck to 4 stud (they are transit pattern originally) using sierra front suspension and a mk3 capri rear axle with 3.75 ratio which suits the engine the best (i did fit a 3.09 one first but preferred the 3.75 makes it more fun to drive).
The axle was a very lucky find form a very low mileage capri and is in amazing condition, lowering blocks are also fitted on the rear, aswell as wheel spacers. The front of the truck is also lowered slightly, to give it a nice usable ride height. has 17 inch O.Z alloys on, they are curbed but all straight with legal tyres.
body work
the truck has had loads of body work done to it, the rear tailgate has been welded up and smoothed at the top, sides have been welded up and smoothed also, and the rear wind removed, welded up and smoothed this has been done to a very high standard, the truck has also been resprayed. And a front cosworth bumper fitted and rear lights tinted red (flash correct colours and 100% legal).
underneath the truck is amazing condition, only had seat mounts welded up in the past done to a high standard, and does not need any more welding at all, been under it a good few times when modding it and its really is in great condition. the back of the truck has also been boarded out to a good standard.
inside, has had leather alfa seats fitted (big bolster type) which are very comfy and look great. has an after market steering wheel, door cards dye'd black and electric windows fitted. infinity door speakers, rev counter and boost gauges fitted.
bad points
engine drips a few spots of oil, this is from the sump gasket, just needs replacing.
crack in top of windscreen, was like it when I got the truck, must have passed mot likie this only in the very top corner. divers electric window sometime sticks half way up, just need to open door and closes fine, electric window switch is not an original one.
few scratches here and there.
Some time judders when setting off in first think its the donut prop rubber mount, as I changed the gearbox mount (aswell as engine mounts) and this reduced it but still does it abit, cheap and easy to fit tho, just havnt got round to it as it hasnt got any worse and didnt bother me, its fine in all other gears etc just when setting off with low revs.
