What's all that about then? OBV. a very cool accessory to have with your 'Rod... But what's the history? And where do you get them from? Do they have to be genuine article (lots of money)... or are repro's allowed? Just curious!

Funny, I was thinking the same not long ago. Don't let what happened to your carpet happen to your rug though

actually they are Mexian blankets
You can buy them from ads in Custom Car and other places.
I have three or four which are stitched together as loose but fitted covers for the Oldsmobile bench seats.

I think that 'back in the day' they were a cheap way of covering worn seats... just like primer and matt black were a cheap way to cover up body mods/repairs....

... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

That's pretty much the deal, beware of paying too much for them on the 'bay or such like. I've bought four when in the States over the years and never paid more than $5 for each one, and that's brand new. You can pick them up in service stations and the like... Maybe pick a random service centre in Arizona somewhere and get them to mail you some. They're actually pretty comfy too... ;D
