Well, i have been a little quiet about the volvo for a month or so...
So heres a quick update.
All vacuum hose has been replaced with new silicone tubing, the rear shocks have been replaced, i have had to play about with all the connections behind the dash to make sure they are all connected correctly. (Some of the lighting connectors had sunk back and caused intermittant connections)
I have removed the heavy electric aerial and put in a lighter smaller bog standard one. Rear mats have been removed.
Started work on stripping the paint from the manifold. I also replaced a load of old cracked fuel hose.
Replaced crimp connectors on fuel/vacuum hoses to jubilee clips.
Replaced Spark plugs, and cleaned HT leads connections.
My budget has sorta gone out the window now, its looking more like 600quid total now.
Next on the list is the Front shocks, and I'm still waiting for that bargain actuator on EBAY, otherwise i shall have to splurge 80+ quid on a new Forge one. Oh, and tyres will need to be done soon, I'm looking at some EBAY specials on falkens (such a change to the BM, i can get a full set for under 100quid! That was one tyre on the BM!
As a result of the above stuff, the car is feeling a lot more sprightly, and the handling especially around the rear is much tighter. The turbo seems to spool faster, but i dunno if I'm just imagining this?
I managed to "DO" a C2 VTS, and a 320i (the driver of which fell about laughing when he caught me at the next lights )
So, its moving on nicely
