I have been looking about at cars etc and one that has lately got my fancy is the MKII MR2. Basically I just wondered what you guys thought of them, ie what are they like to drive / own. They seem like a pretty good little car for the money....

I don't think they'll be non-retro for long. Not driven them before so I have no idea what they're like - I'm assuming they have a 4AGE lump like the mk1?

i know someone with one, nifty thing but quite thirsty even in NA guise and the turbo's aint shy at all

As far as i know its a different lump. The turbos deliver nearer 200bhp i think and theres a few been put in mk1s. they are heavier and bulkier than a mk1, don't let that put you off though, they come highly recommended and at a good price now in its old sports car-retro phase commences. you could do worse than check out imoc.co.uk if you serious about getting one. BTW the mk2 is the only one i havn't been in though, if its owt like the mk1 or mk3 it'll be a bundle of RWD fun!

oh quick true story ive heard about an mr2 an officer stops a dude cruising around in his mr2 feels the bonnet "it feels hot, i reccon youve been speeding"...."if ive been speeding it wouldnt be half as hot as the engine behind me" ;D ;D
