Soooooperb mate! This'll make a lovely noise on those throttle bodies. Stock AFH is 100 bhp IIRC, with the 4 branch and properly mapped this should be great with excellent economy to boot. Win win situation! ;D These early Polos weigh virtually nothing too so the power/weight ratio will be very favourable. Lovely car.

Quality car mate!
Was the valver hard to shlot in? - I'm planning something similar on my MK1 Golf 1.1
Also, hows the gearbox holding up? - I understand its better than the 6N box.
Once again - crackin Mk1!

Also, hows the gearbox holding up? - I understand its better than the 6N box. 6N boxes are of the chocolate teapot variety. The mk2/3 Polo 'box is much more durable. Many of the G40 boys with big power have no issues with them. They only need good quality fresh oil and they'll be fine.

Fair play, was their much modification of the engine and gearbox mounts needed? I'm guessin the mk1 polo is similar to the golf and wud probs take the same amount of work. Got any plans for anymore engine mods? Cheers

Thanks everyone! Engine is easy enough to fit. I used a mk3 Polo 5 speed as the 6N boxes are hopeless but I've stuck with the flywheel, 200mm clutch and starter motor from the donor car. The release bearings are the same. Only thing I've done is make an adaptor plate for the R/H engine mount and skimmed 2mm off the mating face of that mount. You need to run the G-Lader A/R/B blocks to make room for the exhaust. Still need to sort a trigger wheel, the wiring, fuel system and coolant hoses out before I can drive it. I'm guessing its gonna be 120-130BHP so should get a power to weight ratio similar to a UK spec Impreza! Interior is gonna be stock for most of 2011 but watch this space! Also doing a F7P 1.8 16v swap into my OAP spec Volvo 340 so I'll put that on soon too!

Plus you Golf guys will have more room on the induction and exhaust side of things. A turboed one would be a nice G40 alternative!
