147bhp 2.0 turbo with RWD some of the UK cars had "handling by Lotus" badges and trim - these are meant to be pretty good. I really like these cars but I don't imagine an auto being much cop tbh

Suzu, Turbos gave lots of problems; - modern bearings, machining, should give better results.

Oooh - shiny! I would be, if it weren't front wheel drive :/ I'm seriously thinking of getting that Polo as a runaround, and then give it to my fiancee when she passes her test. Ideal car for Guernsey really... I'm afraid Polos are FWD as well! Polo being FWD is fine for the Fiancee or as a runaround - for a big car - only RWD will do for me

...ew! That's horrid and wrong - they used a ROVER Pushrod V8 in it, rather than grabbing a 1UZ-FE from a Lexus in virtually any breakers. And they used FORD brakes? Whats wrong with hilux ones?! *shudders* I wish people would 'keep it in the family' with classics

Surely a 7M or a 1JZ would fit in the bay though?

Surely a 7M or a 1JZ would fit in the bay though? Probably not,it's tight in a RA23/28 'bay, and the 22 is a bit shorter.....too heavy anyway,it'd understeer for England! The sr20 went in a dream, like it was made to go in there (nearly). I'd have perhaps gone altezza beams black top and 6 speed and supercharged it if i had an endless budget.
