Well here she is,
My 1971 mini clubman, never gonna be a show car just a nice mini.
So here's the spec-
-1971 clubman
-Black vinyl seats (split in the front)
-12 inch mini lights
-New front tyres
-New carpets
-Fairly tidy interior
-Rust coimg through in usual places
-New shocks
Engine (bought off a local bloke and here is his spec, have checked what he claims and have no reason to doubt)-
-Re-con about 15,000 miles ago
-Reground crank + new bearings throughout.
-New billet Kent scatter cam 286 degrees
-Billet followers and double valve springs
-Duplex timing gear
-Unleaded gas flowed head
-Rebuilt with new gaskets throughout
-Performance exhaust
-Pipercross air filter
-Engine drips a bit but then cant be many mini's that don't.
Really loved this car but have fallen out of love now so she's up for sale.
Basically what happened is the hydrolastic suspension packed up on one side so I thought id do the easy task of swapping for dry subframes.......easy my ass!!!
Ive done the most of it and had loads of problems, most overcome and then I put the rear wheels on.........the new (second hand)rear subframe looks bent!!! Either that or the radious arm is, either way ive had enough, well and truly thrown teddy out of the pram!
So here's the bits needed to finish,
-Bleed brakes
-Maybe new rear subframe or radius arm (hydrollastic ones supplied and may fit)
-Fit top strut mounts, can be bought from minisport for about £10 a side.
-Handbrake cables route other way up so will need working out.
-Exhaust fitting
-New fuel pump as I damaged it lifting the engine out
-Radiator fitting
-Bleed clutch
May be other things but nothing a few weekends of tinkering cant fix.
Many happy days had driving her but Ive had enough of this car and bought a '64' minx, hopefully she'll behave better!!!!!!!
Any questions please ask
