A 1985 Polo coupe in Mars red with a beigetastic interior! I binned off the hubcaps as soon as I got home to reveal the loverlee black steelies It needs a severe beating with the stick and a dent pushing out, but it appears to be in full working order - it's even testing until January!

Thanks! As soon as I get chance I'm going to re-park the rear wiper as well ;D Where's good for Polo lowering kits then?

use cooking oil on the trim , works a treat. Use a non bleach bathroom cleaner (Cif/Jif) on the paint cover it in water, squirt 2 or three bottles on and work gently with a sponge, then rinse , instant ghetto T cut, without the effort

Awesome! I've put this on my website but it made me laugh so it's worth putting it on here: Fifi read the handbook to me on the way home and the first couple of lines were well worth repeating Fifi: "Congratulations on the purchase of your new Polo Coupe." Me: "Thanks!" Fifi: "You have made a wise choice!" Me: "Thanks, I feel better already."

I've just downloaded this picture from the way home - weather was actually worse than it looks!! It was like someone had put wall paper paste on the windscreen.

I might need some soon - the 1095cc engine in this car is lovely but not exactly a road burner 1300 is better on so many levels. I'm thinking of staying with the black Polo steelies for now, just been to GSF for some bits and had a look at their 40mm springs - they are only 48 quid + VAT so I think that'll be the next purchase after the tax disc ;D

Looks cool, I really like the Mk2 Coupe. As for wheels, I'd go for the Mk1 GTI 13inch 9 spokes myself with suitable lowering obviously.

I heartily approve, but you know this already ;D
Somewhere in the back of my head I like the look of a matching Polo parked up next to my Corsa somewhere - both red, checked/whatever, low and blacked up trim ;D

I was bored so I've just booked it in to have the back box replaced by a straight through pipe, but in stock dimensions. Should be interesting ;D

;D ;D I'm too skint at the moment - it's going to need a couple of bits of bodywork and stuff, plus the cost of putting the wedge on the road. I'm happy with a bit of RWYB
