Sometimes I do, but when he trades his race spec Elise for a Subaru Impreza WRX, and soon to a diesel Saab 9-3 I'm not so sure.
Although he did buy me a Locost kit at the age of 12 and is currently buying me the parts to build a trailer!

Sorry. My parents are rubbish. My dad has a special skill of choosing termianlly curse word cars, and making them worse. Anyone who willingly bought a brand new FSO Polonez & considers the Morris Marina to be 'a fine vehicle' needs their head examinining. And his attitude to unusual noises emitting from grubby bits is to turn the radio up & hope it goes away. And bodywork maladies are solved by trowelling on the wag. My mum can't even drive as she gets confused about all the pedals and steering etc. I think she does have *slightly* better automotive taste though... she was much disappointed when the Volvo 760 Turbo was recently replaced by a faded & manky Pug 205.... Sorry, old folks, but automotivally you suck.

Ha Ha, yeah my parents are very understanding when it comes to me & my cars. I moved out when I was 24 with one car & when I moved back a couple of years later I had two, yet although sometimes I know they get a bit frustrated when I've got bits and peices around the house or they can't get in the shed cos theres a set of wheels in there (my folks are always bemused that whatever vehicle I own I have two sets of wheels for it ;D) They never complain My Dad has a passing interest in cars and will offer to help if i'm working on any of mine. He has a good knowledge of carrying out the basic stuff & more - having grown up owning old bangers & had to work on them to keep them going. Both my Mum & Dad will tell me if they saw anything they thought was interesting on their daily travels & often pointing out stuff thats for sale - like the Mk1 Golf around the corner or the Austin 1300 in Little Irchester. My Dad has very little enthusiasm for his own car (a VX Corsa ) And sees it as a means to get from A 2 B, he doesn't even seem to have any 'wants' for anything particularly special - although he does keep making noises about MX5s.... but he'd never buy one

my ol' man is tops but he drives me bonkers sometimes.if we are doing a job,i'll get out the rule or the vernier or some measuring device and measure and measure it again, measure twice, cut once and all that.him,he just walks up,takes a look and dissapears off to his workshop and comes back having made the part needed and the damn thing fits perfectly! but i wouldnt be with out him, even though he's only my stepdad ,he treats me like HIS son ,and has taught me much more than the tosser that donated the sperm.my mum cant drive and wont drive, the last driving lesson ended up in two wheeling a ford consul round a roundabout after previously mentioned tosser told her to 'stick your foot down girl' he forgot to mention the words 'on the brake pedal' she was so frightened shes never got behind the wheel since.

Oh yeh and my mum is always giving me welding tips etc having trained at Rolls-Royce as an engineer! My mum makes a mean gateaux, but that's quality! ;D I can lay blame for my addiction squarely on my fathers shoulders, he attended my birth then went home and prepared his vintage MG for a race meeting at Crystal Palace the following day, he randomly owned hundreds of classic, vintage and modern race and road cars and built a huge garage at our house before even doing a quater of the work needed to the house itself. He died eight years ago unfortunately, but I often smile when I look at my collection of tat...

should have mentioned his current tastes in cars are curse word (rover 820 ,montego, mondeo) but has owned some pretty hot motors in his time, how about a 100e pop with ohc head and big carbs, mini cooper mk1,sd1 vitesse or 2.8i granny.and the biggest problem with his curse word tastes is that he used to 'donate' them to me when he'd finished with them.

8-)Fabia looks great Rob..not retro yet obviously, but I reckon the vRS is gonna be a classic. I particularly like the colour..mainly cos it's very similar to your special Rapid!
