Thursday I called a mate whom I do not get to see often anymore as my job has evolved and the territory changed However some friendships are cemented in simple trust and knowing who has your back. In this case, both of us know it. After 45 minutes of catching up on travel, kids, dogs, cats and the rest, he randomly asked me if I had a trailer. I thought he needed to borrow one, and said yes, I had a bike trailer with no sides, but he was welcome to it, and that I wished it had sides as it would possibly work better for him (he is not a biker, so would not be needing a bike trailer of course) So he replied that he did not need a trailer, but had one, and did I need or want one. He would send pics on Friday. On Friday he sent these photos, and I realised I would happily offer it a home, so I asked him how much he wanted for it, to which he replied: A Handshake, drink a coffee with him, play with Max their new dog and collect the two litres of South African Brandy he has had stashed away for me the last two years. Now I just need to get to collect the thing 30 miles from here, as none of my vehicles have a tow hitch. craigrk May have to collect on my behalf on his way here to collect all the treasure he has at my place. On Saturday Sally and I went to Faversham to a street market, afterward we went to see mate Neil, who sold me my new welder a couple of years ago. He also sold craigrk a 75 liter compressor while we were there, into the back of the Focus it went. Then to the Isle of Sheppey to deliver the Radio Flyer race car to mate Aaron, and check out what he was up to. He pointed out the small skip and mentioned stuff he had tossed in there. Included was a good welders mask, about 20 hardly used micro fibre cloths bag, 200 very large black bin liner bags, and a load of random stuff I did pass on. Micro fibres already washed and dried. However............ This, came home from his workshop. Complete Porta Power tool.

Afew months ago I was given an 'Elite Greenhouses' greenhouse. Its about 4.5ft square, so only a small one but just the right size for the space I ad, and its a top quality thing. My tomato and chilli plants have gone mental this year. There is a veg patch behind the greenhouse, and I was tasked with making a fence and gate to go between the greenhouse and the shed to stop my nephew and his partner in crime Dave the dog from trampling over everything. I started with putting a stake in the ground (in a random location. Remember this) and sticking a fat broom handle in it. I had some hardwood tongue and groove slats that id skip-dived for a couple of years ago, so I made a panel out of that to go between the broom handle and the greenhouse, thus All that was left now was to make a gate. This was where I completly out-wombled myself. I was going to start it yesterday but first I popped to the shops. on my return I spied a cupboard with a note on it saying 'I'm fReE, pLz taKe mE' So I did First I took the shelf out of it wondering if it would fit in the gap. Too small. Then I took it to bits which was easy as it was held together with allen head screws and no glue. I took the top of it to the gate location and held it up When its done it will be higher than in that pic, but it looks like a gate to me! Its a loose fit too, it needs absolutly nothing, and bearing in mind nothing was measured when putting anything where it is, I'm chuffed. Infact, I feel Now to finnish it...

A little while back i had my own stroke of luck. Found these in the rubbish outside a house being renovated. I asked before i took them. If anyone knows what they are, they will know why i was so excited and how much i ended up selling them for! I struggled to contain my joy and couldnt get then in the car fast enough!

Tannoy (probably full range) speakers? Not sure why they would be super valuable though, except they're obviously big.

Not sure why they would be super valuable though, except they're obviously big. 15" tannoy gold, a dual concentric driver with a horn loaded tweeter in the middle. Not technically a full range driver as there are two seperate drivers, but covers the whole frequency range while remaining point source. Much loved by all the big recording studios in the 60s, considered probably one of the best drivers ever made. Even with damage to one and no crossovers i got £700 for them! Mint with crossovers they would have been worth well over £1k. Just chucked onto the rubbish heap as part of the house rip out. Spotted them driving past and almost had a seizure! Id have kept them but i use the 10" version already and they need big enough cabinets as it is 😂 Still, paid for my garage roof!

Recently replaced a gate at Sally’s place. Kept the old one, then last week she painted all her fence panels, blue, as they have been for years. So I thought a welcome sign was in order. Robbed a plank. Prepped and base painted. Progress. Halfway there. OK, really done. Happy girl?? Yes of course, she was surprised, which is a good thing

A few years ago my elderly neighbour was moving out and was about to bin this Anglepoise lamp (Model 75, c1965-73) which needed rewiring. I gave it a home and it proceeded to gather dust in the corner of my study. This morning I rewired it having bought some period correct fabric coated wire a couple of weeks ago. I always liked these and the bonus is that its a genuine one and a similar age to yours truly.

COVID 19 I have decided to take in a second lodger of I can find one. Loads of contracts at the local powerstation currently. Needed a bit more fridge space Someone 1/2 mile down the road put one out on Monday. Today I knocked on the door and asked if I could have it. Galaxy to the rescue Needs a clean. Stripped all the interior parts and into the dishwasher as it is good as sterilising stuff. Free is good. No idea what it would cost me new.
