what should i be searching? no markings on it and cant find anything like it, which is good sign i guess. When I saw that picture I said out loud “holy ship!” As it looks like a sculpture by a Giacometti. But on closer look it doesn’t look like it is. If it was you could retire early and all your offspring too! Even if it isn’t it may be worth £100 or so to the right person. Perhaps more? Cheers, Giacometti looks similar, definitely inspired by his sculptures. Getting interesting now.

Giacometti is best known for the bronze sculptures of tall, thin human figures, made in the years 1945 to 1960. [22] Giacometti was influenced by the impressions he took from the people hurrying in the big city. People in motion he saw as ‘a succession of moments of stillness’.[23] The emaciated figures are often interpreted as an expression of the existential fear, insignificance and loneliness of mankind.[24] The mood of fear in the period of the 1940s and the Cold War is reflected in this figure. It feels sad, lonely and difficult to relate to.

heres a better pic. i should probably add, the pic, table and lighter had been paid for and i only saw the sculpture as i left. i asked how much it was and she said i could have it. so yes, it probably is worth a bit more than i paid for it.

Got you interested now ehhhh?
Regardless, its a nice enough piece to have in your home.
Unless you can make enough from selling it, to buy a bigger house with 7 garages.

I got a sculpture.. A friend does clearances so sometimes gets some interesting bits, he recently came back from a job with this on the truck.. a huge head carved from limewood , its about 3 foot tall. Apparently (according to the engraving on the base) it is of William Morris (artistic licence!) and was carved in 1996 on the centenary of Morris' death. I thought it was kind of cool so I grabbed it.

This was on the scrap this afternoon. It's got one slightly dodgy caster, but I think it'll be OK for my use. Almost certainly better than the one I'm using, which is a tea trolley.

I managed to pick this up today for just £10 There appeared to be quite a few items that looked to be brand new at my local tip, my feeling is there are people in my town with too much money, or just people who were ungrateful for their Christmas gifts

Couple of things from my lady who makes furniture. Whilst collecting firewood, she offered us a belt sander, circular saw and this; Think I need to open one of those boutique shops!

Free is good ehhhh…? We all need a wagon, don’t we. Clean up and reassemble should help. More when it is cleaned up and dried.

Another useful bit of free cash collected last night. 1780mm tall, 800mm wide, 400mm deep. Will replace a cabinet half that size and allow me to collect more junk and display it to collect dust. Free cash guys, remember that.

Reminds me that when I got my scalextric cabinet the guy I picked it up from got his measurements mixed up. 50 inches is considerably more than 50cm! 🙄

This popped up on one of the local "reuse" groups, and as I'm looking out for a decent radio to go in one of the classics, I asked for it and, as no-one else was interested, the chap let me have it. It had originally been offered as "ideal for a first car", but no-one was interested. I guess first cars have changed a bit when no-one wants a tuner / MP3 / CD Player with front aux input. What surprised me, though, was that according to the manufacture sticker on the bottom, it's not even a year old. I come from a time when having both fast-forward and rewind on your car stereo was a bonus, so to drop on something like this, for free, still surprises me, and in a way inspires me to (a) get rid of a bit more stuff and (b) not be obsessed with trying to get something for it.
