That's a great haul. Your two stainless tanks are cornelius "corny" kegs, if you didn't already know. Great for home brewing Didn't know the name, had planned on making fuel tanks from them, but seems they are in demand for home brewing, so looking like they will head to the bay of E or the tree of gum. Since there is a timber interest in this thread, to the left of the blast cabinet are some of the Malaysian hardwood (mahogany?) Planks, which get thrown out at work Ttfn Glenn

I'm no wood expert, but they look too light to be mahogany. If you want a simple, easy(ish) project, get the planks and turn them into electric guitar bodies or necks. Good hardwood usually equals good tonewood.

Only going by what others are saying, they are from crates that come from Malaysia, the wood is very hard, as for making a guitar, if anyone wants to try, quite welcome to collect from south of Glasgow Ttfn Glenn

A few weeks ago, I found a couple of pistol air drills, in bits, in the rubbish, at work, The bottom one in the picture was one of them, gave them a session of oil and reasembly to give myself two free drills, gave one to a chap at work, who promptly gave me the 90 degree drill in return, so I still had two free drills. I got some goodies today. There's and aerial installing place next door to where i work and they were having a clear out, I got this rather tasty little Sony micro component system with minidisc I gave them a tenner for this. Using this for my computer sound, will be using the minidisc deck to put some of my itunes onto as i'm going back to a minidisc deck in my E36. Came with these little Technics speakers which look rather nice beside my monitor. But the best score was these..... A Sansui 551 receiver. These were made between 1974 and 1976. Gave this a clean inside and out plugged it in and it fired right up. Nicely built and basic circuitry and a warm sound. matches my Wharfdale delta 50.2's perfectly. and this Pioneer LX-690 receiver. This is later around 78ish. More powerful but the same warm sound, this needed a little more coaxing with a soldering iron and a couple of components but was only a 20 minute job. This needs a good clean inside and also the display bulbs are all toasted, but i'm off to get them in the morning. Best of all these were both freebies.

I'd rather loose by a mile cause I built my own car than win by an inch because someone else built it for me. Your car is your story, so don't let anyone else write the book.

That HiFi is cool, the Sony mini system is ideal for hooking up to PC, are you using an external USB DAC? Those recievers take me back to my Saturday job at Laskey's....

I have a Soundblaster Audigy sound card in my computer so its just connected direct with a toslink optical fibre cable. The Pioneer now has its bulbs fitted good as new. Got it connected up on a set of old Bolivar speakers and my Delta 50.2's sounds so good with vinyl.

Another little freebie from the guys next door. A Sony ZS-2000 This was faulty as the cd door did not open and it was jammed solid. well not for very long. Someone hadn't put a cd in properly so it jammed it shut. Its quite well spec'd, optical in and out. radio controlled clock so it auto sets. megabass. rds tuner. Its around 10 years old npt much about them online though.

Free cycle. Three speed Raleigh Shopper bike. Hammerstein painted, so no idea what that hides. Needs front tube/tyre/ puncture repair. Then hopefully back on track.
