no real point in this thread, but its a bit slow on here today and it means i can post some pics ;D drove to pompey last fri (took 3 1/2 hours from MK, roads were shocking), to collect a load of my parts from Pete down at Funkenblitz. Greeted with a box like this got back to my mates house, checked out the new toys and what do i find? hehe, so you imagine what i do straight away! Then i turn it over and read .... curse word ;D we mocked it up on the sat and its all designed to length around a battery which goes under the rear seat - and mine is going under the bonnet. curse word, yet more fettling to do. Still, the chassis comes back next week so i do at least have that to look forward to!

Only the yanks would create a box with a load of adjustable turny knobs on the front and a sticker on the back saying ‘don’t turn the knobs’.

its for the bug mate. The wee black box is the controls for the fuel injection, which you set at idle and then when on boost. No bloody techy laptop stuff for me, that just more for me to break!

I would get a wide band O2 sensor for the exhaust keefy, id hate to see some melted pistons on your lovely machine. Nowt for you to break, but could save the engine?

thats good to hear, id hate to see that lovely lump melted! So where are you putting the injectors? Placement is critical to even mixtures and the O2 might read fine and the engine still melt pistons.
When are we going to get the next installment on the turbo beetle?

J i updated the thread in the readers rides section the other day mate, body is being prep for paint at the mo and chassis is currently away being blasted/powder coated. heads arrived from the states the other week, and so the engine should be built soon. All decisions related to the engine/FI/turbo will be made by Pete whos building the engine, and i trust 100%. While i understand most mechanical things, i appreciate there are those who know far more than me (and have far more experience) and where such a large amount of £££ is concerned i think i would be stupid to try and go it alone
