OK, so I'm attempting to bring some shine back to the Cressy's roof but it keeps coming up with horrid dark smears.
I'm using standard red-bottle T cut, an old T shirt (damp for on, dry for off) the car is light metallic blue.
Any T Cut tips for me?

Yeah you can get a milder (blue bottle?) T-Cut for metallics - the regular one can damage the clear lacquer on your paint as it's too abrasive

So what you're saying is, don't use it on metallics? ;D

with catastrophic results

basicly, don't use it on metallics, as Benz Boy said, it'll eat the laquer, as it's a little too rough. I always use Mer on metallics, or my "special" wax, that only I can get

T-cut is rubbish. I've never achieved a good result with it. I need to do some serious 'blinging' on the BM, as it's looking a bit sad at the moment.

I'm sure this isnt the prob as its fcuking obvious, but i often find it starts to get smeary once the cloth gets a little dirty. Try a different area on the cloth. Now you can tell me, 'of course ive used a clean area on the cloth you fool!' ;D

Use a wet cloth as well and rinse/wring it out often in a bucket of water. That helps knock smears on the head and makes the T-cut less harsh too.
Plus you can drink the water after, tastes a bit wierd but gives a great 'wobble' effect on your vision for a few hours.

T-cut is rubbish. I've never achieved a good result with it. I T-Cut the wing on my 525i with good results - it had turned pink. The only problem then was that it made the rest of the panels look sh!te in comparison. I couldn't be ar$ed to do the whole car as I was sacking it off, so I flogged it with one really shiny wing. Just remember to lag plenty of wax on after you've T-Cut the panel otherwise it'll just fade again in a few weeks.

Right then, I've popped down the road and picked up a roll of polishing cloth, and now I'm off to get some metallic T-cut...and a battery .

Use AutoGylm paint renovator, far better than t-cut. Go over with a good polish from Megs and then stick a layer of Carnuba paste wax on top and only wash with a quality car shampoo.
