Okay this has been suggested in another thread, so I thought I'd see if I could get some semi-"offical" organising thread. Here is the website : www.transport-museum.com/home.htmIts free to get in. Assuming an average weekend who could make it and on what day, Saturday or Sunday?

Also Gaydon is down the road, so maybe a nice A40 cruise could be had

I could make either a Saturday or Sunday if I know in advance! BUT I'm away for most of the weekends in August, not too sure.

Too bad there aren't all that many Glasgow area members (am I the only one? ) another good idea would be a Retro Rides meeting at the Glasgow Museum of Transport. They've got a good selection of retro machinery in there. Theres a Rootes/Chrysler exhibit, with everything from the very first Hillman Imp (built just down the road from the museum, in Linwood, Avengers, Talbots, and Horizons, as well as there being a nice E-type, a Haldane healey (locally made Healey 3000 replica) a Trabant, Minis, minors, Volvos and a great bay-window Camper in 'as used' condition with "I've been to ..." stickers and tacky seat covers still intact. Theres some vans and lorries too, loads of classic trams and stuff, and a niced recreated 1930s street scene with a working cinema that shows old newsreels and stuff. And maybe some of the more adventurous drivers could convoy over o Knockhill racecourse for a little show-off of what their motors will do. But theres no point if I'm the only one who could go, there would have to be loads of us to make it worthwhile. Oh well.

Saturday or Sunday is fine by me. From memory I know that the weekend of 22 Aug is out for me 'cos I'm doing "Normous" Autojumble! Anything else is good though. The A40 cruise sounds a good plan too!!! Coventry is quite a central area so we might be able to muster quite a few people! PS: Glasgow sounds great but it's a bit of a trek for me - I'd need to okay it with OPEC before setting off (I'm sure I've got a hole in my tank...)
