FORD CORTINA MK 5 1.6 GL
I friend at work has a Cortina which is going for, well, nowt really, but you could give him a decent drink for it. I will post the photos of the car up in the next day or so, but it's dark blue and in reasonably ok condition with just a little TLC required bodywise, but the engine will need more. He also has some spare parts available at cost. Please read the attached description from the current owner:

"The car is a non-starter and the engine hasn’t turned over for approximately 4 years. The has been off the road for around 6 years and has been garaged since then.
I got a new MOT for the car about 3 months before I had to take it off the road because of engine problems. As far as I am aware, it shouldn’t require any welding.
The bodywork has some rough patches in the usual Cortina places - wheel arches, bottom A pillars, sun roof, front valance.
Although originally a 1.6, I had the engine replaced with a 2 litre - I was advised that it is the Cosworth block with the standard pinto head. I had to take the car off the road because of engine problems - the timing was never right and there was a lot of misfiring. I had a new distributor, carb, plugs, points etc etc and nothing seemed to work. I’m sure that the engine will run again if someone is able to give it enough TLC.
I also replaced the gearbox with the 5-speed type 9. The rear axle and diff are the standard 1600.
The boot floor was holed quite badly near the petrol tank and I had this repaired shortly before taking the car off the road.
I’ve got the log book, old MOT certificates and other paperwork such as receipts for work carried out by the previous owner.
The attached pictures were taken before the car came off the road but are a fair reflection of the condition.
I must ask that the car is rebuilt and isn’t scrapped or used for spares. I have some panels that I bought when I still had the intention of rebuilding the car myself and I’m open to offers for them. I have a front valance, rear wheel arches, a chrome bumper and a front doorskin.
Thank you."
If you're genuinely interested in the car, please contact me on here via private message.
Many thanks,
Chris.
