The Saab sold to a german.
I forgot to mention in the listing that the fuel gauge doesn't work.
About 70% of UK 900's seem to have failed or innacurate or stuck fuel gauges because Saab don't deal the senders anymore themselves, Eurocarparts haven't had any for months, and I can't find a specialist with one. None in local scrappies either.
I've told him about it, and he wants me to find him one because they are expensive in germany. It appears though here, they are impossible to find.
Also, after working fine on Friday, when I got in the car yesterday, the radio didn't work, but cassette and clock did, but the arial wouldn't come up.
When I pulled it in the chassis out of the dash, the clock and cassette stopped working too, so I figured old age.
Emailed the buyer to tell him, then bought a cheap MP3 CD player as a replacement (had a decent Sony R/C with changer cable and adaptor but no changer), but when I tried to fit the replacement, the memory wire appears to be dead in the car, but no fuses are blown and I can't find anymore line fuses. It has switched live, which powers up the CD player but that is flaky, but even when powered there is nothing through the speakers, not even interference.
I had to fit an ISO adaptor to the bare wires in the car. All the speakers worked before. I used proper crimps with a ratchet crimp tool. All the speaker wires match the correct pairs. I can't believe I have made bad crimps on all speakers. Even the areal doesn't raise.
He didn't reply until after I had bought the H/U and said don't bother, we will just knock off some money.
He also wants me to find him some accomadation, but when we suggested some (travelodge type places) hotel/motels, he asked if we could find something local cheaper. Most wanted us to book and pay.
He has paid 50%deposit by PayPal which I have transfered to my bank. But I'm so curse word off it had me in tears yesterday. This car has been nothing but bad luck.
I paid £2500 in august. I sold for £1800
I've just had to pay £50 for a fair quality CD player
A new sender is going to be about £70 if I can find one (scrappy £20 but none local, owner £10 but none available).
He wants me to remove the tyres from the spare wheels (that will probably cost about £20-30) to make them easier to get back to germany.
I'm probably going to have to knock off some more money if I can't get the CD player working
the way things are going, It is going to cost me £200 to get shot of the car, what with Paypal fees.
I could have gotten more back with 1/2 litre of unleaded and a match.
I'm so curse word off. Makes me wonder why I even bother with cars at all.
Petrol is back at stupid criminal prices.
Brown is raising car tax to educate Chinese children and invade Iran, and my insurance just keeps going up.
