I bet it wouldn't. My truck (of war tm) was painted pink by the previous owner. It still as a few blebs where the pink shows through and has a pink bumper which is just all wrong. I'm attempting to get it as filthy as possible and never wash it so no-one notices it's shameful past.

Thats not just a plane, its an english electric lighting. Mental bit of kit, unfortunatly banned from flying now due to the way the electrics work.

yeah, legendary plane. the one I've seen was sat outside the old A1 storage yard in Lincs, really messy looking thing covered in graffiti and generally falling apart , was held up with girders which have mashed the underside, and the wings and tail were held on with sheets of old steel. last I heard it was being restored. I hope so, sad end to a glorious machine

W114. It'll be a 2.8 straight six. I wouldn't part with too much cash for it in that state though - you can still get pretty sound ones for reasonable money. If you can have it off him for under £400 I'd say do it, but be prepared for a weld-a-thon on those sills and back arches! Lovely motors though. Great spotting

English Electric Lightnings.....beast of a machine; just a shame Clarkson has one in his front garden (but at least it hasn't been scrapped). Thunder City jets in Cape Town have a small fleet they use for joyrides at £30K a pop - you specify what you want to do so a full afterburner take-off would be on the books (if you can get the nosewheel up quick enough, that is...it won't retract over 500mph!). The REAL reason the CAA don't want Lightenings flying in this country is that the RAF hasn't actually got anything quick enough to catch one if it fell into the wrong hands (as if!) - one could get off the ground, hit anything within range and be taxi-ing before the wheels on a Tornado would be turning. mind you, I don't think MS Flight supports Lightenings so AlQueda would be stuffed.........
