I reckon there's about fifty quids worth of price-bumping in there...how do you think all those people would feel if they knew they'd all been tricked into paying over the odds? I've reported it to ebay...we'll see what they do now. I think I'll wait before I pay him!

Bloody right too mate It's not on at all. Same as people who use software to outbid anyone who bids on an item. I got stiffed like with a guitar body I wanted, so I kept bidding to push the price sky high, that'll teach the fecker to cheat

Bloody con artists! They don't just work from the internet either, I was at an autojumble in Balado a while back, and had a pair of silly-billies working from the back of a knackered Transit try to bump up the price on a dynamo control box I was about to buy as I urgently needed one. You know the kind of thing they tried: "£15. Ah, but then that is our last one!" says the first one, to be answered by "you're right Bob, and these are rare parts, might not see another one for <sucks teeth> a couple of months!" by his mate. They must of got to twice the sticker price before I told them where to stick their bloody control box!

I've also sent an email to the other people who've won an auction with him. Hopefully they'll report him too.

Having just won an e-bay auction ,I was chewing my fingers to the last second ,hoping someone wouldnt beat me to the price ! I thought that if someone were todo what you describe,it would push the price up ,and I kept checking to see who the bidders were ,as it went up .

Time for an update:
I sent the 'fake' bidder an email asking him why he was artificially raising the bids of others and showed him the link to the ebay page that clearly showed his conning ways. I received a reply which contained an apology and a confession, he also said it was 'silly and not worth the effort'. Curiously the item I won turned up in the post this morning...not bad considering I haven't paid for it! Has it bought my silence? It might have done...if I hadn't already reported him - he now has the immortal line 'no longer an ebay member' next to his name. Hopefully the other winning bidders I contacted had similar results.

Hey rmad those Jensen Healey wheels are great,.. would look cool as hell polished and detailed That's why I was a bit gutted when he pulled the auction! I was winning too...£5.56...I'd been watching them for a week, when I pressed 'refresh' (as you do in the closing minutes!) and saw the allegedly 'no reserve' auction had been ended due to a 'listing error' I was a tad unhappy to say the least!
