That looks a real peach mate. I'm assuming it has been recently restored? I can't remember seeing a mk2 in that colour before, is it the original colour? Lots of the Ghia models were finished in metallic silver or gold so it's nice to see something different. Let's see some pics of the interior then, all that lovely velour seat trim and wood dash are a must see! Period push button radio in the centre console with quartz clock below? C'mon lets see!
BTW, your avatar made chuckle! ;D

Thanks for the comments glad you like it. The colour is Ford Midnight Blue and is quite rare especialy on a Ghia most of which were painted in a metalic. The car spent all its life upto 2010 in Bristol the first two owners being family, the second owner a lady kept the car even when she moved to something more modern that was in 1992 i belive, it spent a couple of years back on the road in 2001/2 before being stored again till 2009. The next owner was a mechanic who knew the car and the family he and the following owner did all the recommissioning work.(i cant take the credit for how it looks now) It has lots of gromets in the sills and door shuts where anti rust agent was injected this has done its job in preserving the car (i cant find any welding) Inside is indeed all original push button single speaker radio and all the door cards have no speaker holes. I have a set of alloys which were an option when new and will get them refurbed over the winter.

This is stunning! The interior is also lovely, I'm very jealous. I'm glad you found a nice Mk 2 as I remember you saying on flickr that you was looking for one, Just don't leave it looking like your old 1600 Sport!

Absolutely stunning car mate. Whilst Midnight blue is very rare for a mk2 Escort, I have seen it before - though never on a Ghia model. The interior though is a first for me, I've never seen that colour before - uber rare indeed. So not only a rare (non metallic) colour, uber rare interior colour but manual 'box too. You say the car has been recommissioned, but surely that paintwork isn't original? It looks totally mint. Beautiful. Can I ask what the switch is next to the glovebox door? It's the only bit I don't like!

No i don't think the paint is original though the colour is,and ive not seen an interior that colour before either. the little switch once powered a small reading lamp that was fitted to the passenger side A pillar, when i can find a replcement for the bit of dash its attatched to i will get rid. Id seen one or two Ghias for sale and they were all autos.

That's in amazing condition. Back in 1991 I rebuilt one just like this, exactly the same colour scheme, inside and out. The only reason I can tell this wasn't mine is that yours is in such amazing condition!!
