This: Which my mate has just bought. OK, so I know it's not 'hardcore' retro, but I figured some of you might be excited by it. 3.9 V8 on shortened open pipes it sounds fugging ace! Goes a bit too although the 3in lift makes it a bit wobbly through the bends. I had a bit of a play in it and I loved every bloody second. Get-out-of-my-way-or-I-will-squish-you-mortals ftw!!!!! Mad as a box of frogs, it'll get a proper baptism of mud come the morning. Joy!!

Quality vehicle ;D ;D I used to love mine but unfortunately I did too many miles to make it practical to use and it had to go. Fancy getting another at some point just to leave at home as a off road toy/ tow vehicle.

Took it out mudding yesterday. It's a fugging amazing tool. While I was pootling through the grime at 1mph in the landy, ol' Russ was sprinting it head to head against some Motocross lads through the mud. Lots of work to be done though.... the electrics seem to be completely bonkers, the floor is rotten to fark and boot has a 1ft long slit in one corner, so big that things keep escaping through it. Ideal practise for my welding skillz then. Having seen how this pwns both the mud & the road compared to my leaf-sprung old Landie I'm seriously tempted to get one for myself.

All coil sprung landies handle a hell of a lot better than leafs. 90`s and 110`s all handle like the range rovers/discoverys but as they are fitted with such curse word dervs they are hard to get them to a decent speed. I was gonna buy a coil sprung land rover just to keep at home for towing/off roading but the prices they command are a bit silly. So ended up buying a 200 discovery much better engine better gearing for road use and as good as I need it to be for the off roading I do and it was only 800 quid. The cheapest coil sprung landies I could find where nearly 2000 with a N/A diesel engine. And diesel range rovers command quite high prices even with the 2.5 VM engine which is a bit curse word TBH. In general pre 93 range rovers/discoverys are better off road due to the lack of anti roll bars, they were optional on discos but not many people specc`ed them. But they are a retro fit option so if its mainly road miles you do they are worth fitting. Best thing about all landies are the parts prices and availability. Standard mintex pads can be bought for 6 or 7 quid dampers from about 14 quid . Just make sure you never have to buy anything from Halfrauds £25 for a set of pads

Thats great, lovving it, spot lights for the late night swamp missions! My mate got hold of a bobtailed DIY'd 3.5 ex 3 door pick up monster, loads of fun, he and my mate crushed a poor old early Metro with it! Propper makeshift, snorkel exhausts, no rear foot brakes, an oil drum for petrol, and an abbreviated reg plate making it look private. he drove it a long way home like that, no MOT or anything! Crazy

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

A matte of mine has had a selection of shortened and/or jacked up RRs for off roading malarky. Much fun.
