Just been looking at an article in Ol' Skool Rodz magazine about roller painting... a few points mentioned:
Use a foam or mohair roller, and keep a brush handy for the edges.
Cover the whole area quickly, working the roller in all directions, don't worry about bubbles and roller marks...
Roll the excess paint off the roller on to a clean board or peice of card, then go over the area again evenly, without any pressure, pulling the roller towards you. Keep getting rid of excess paint and rollering the the area until the bubbles are gone. Add more paint as needed to get rid of roller marks.
I must admit I'm tempted to try it on the Sceptre... make a change from rattle cans...
