Looking absolutely perfect on the Schmidts, I can't wait to see it in the metal! Blinding photos as always, nice one. I have heard of people using these for lazy eye conversions (thats what we call them, not sure if its the technical term!). cgi.ebay.co.uk/180560644531Not sure if they would be too big for an MX5! Good shout, I've heard this too, this thread might be useful

Thanks guys, but as I said I've already found a set of lights which are the perfect fitment! Best of all, they were FREE!
H4 Hella's in 6.5x4" - happy days ;D
Adam, from what I can tell (in MX5 speak) 'lazy eyes' are where the standard lights are stopped part way, 'Lo pro' are the low profile lights which lazy eye owners are trying to emulate...if that makes any sense at all?
[edit] Sorry guys, it would seem I commented on MX5 Nutz that I'd sourced some lights, not on here! My bad and sorry for any confusion. I found them in a box at the unit the day after taking the photos...amongst all the random spotlights I've been accumulating. Don't know where they came from, but was over the moon to see them there, perfect size for fitting to the MX5. I just need to get working on a shorter throw, custom mount and shroud. That should keep me busy [/edit]

I really should check readers rides more often!! I had to go back 4 pages to pick up where i left off! And what an awesome 4 pages they were! Epic tales of ICE repairs, roadtrips, schmidts and more.
Car is looking sooooooooooo good it's hard to believe what it looked like when you started!!

Thanks Dude,
I really should get some more updates on here. Despite not actually doing any more on the car since the last update, I've been collecting some new parts. Some tasty mods to come....hopefully none will detract from the overall look/feel of the car and in fact, I reckon they will all enhance the car. Otherwise I wouldn't have bought them. ;D
Watch this space....

The low pro ones in the second pic (red car) are the ones I have, nice but usually expensive! They are £520 from MX5Parts... cheaper from Moss and a few other places, but still usually about £350.
I'd wait for the ones Bruce is making as they sound really nice, and you know they will be perfectly executed!!
Russell.

I've spent the past 3 hours or so reading and re-reading this thread. I'm a big MX-5 fan and I must say that along with the sharka build (on clubroadster.net) this is one of the finest I've seen. So good in fact that it has compelled me to sign up to this forum. Absolutely stunning work

Bruce! Ive been mega busy recently and only just managed to catch up, I think it was about 15 pages! After starting at about 8am, and despite being interrupted by dog walks and small boy, I am finally up to date! Nothing makes me smile more than seeing things done properly and with a real attention to detail. You got it bang on here mate, it looks absolutely stunning! You should be dead proud fella - without doubt the sweetest MX5 I have ever seen. CANNOT WAIT to see it in the flesh!

Thanks for the comments guys. Really appreciated....especially V8Will - signing up because of the car! Welcome to the forum Dude ;D I'm not going to have much time to do anything to the car (or any cars ) for the next few weeks because I'm giving my house a much needed overhaul so that I can get it on the market and get sold up then move somewhere remote! Once the house is finished I can get more time back on the cars. This and the Rascal will then be seeing a fair bit of attention. I desperatley want to get the stereo finished and working, but like everything else I want to do...it's just gonna have to wait until the house is looking perfect. Updates will certainly be forthcoming once I'm back on the case ;D Thanks again for the comments everyone.

Sundays are great. Bank Holiday Mondays even BETTER! I'd had enough of working on the house - treating damp in a number of window reveals isn't excatly fun at the best of times, but looking out of those windows and seeing the lovely weather there is only so much a man can take. Yesterday I decided enough was enough and I needed a break. Chris (LeSpank) had just got his car back from the paint shop and from the photos he's posted up, it was looking mighty fine. Combine my need to take a break and get out in the nice weather...with a desire to fire up the camera, a convertible in the garage that hadn't been driven for a few weeks and a nice clean Mk1 MR2 in fresh paint....I think you'd all be doing the exact same thing. A few calls were made to Chris and Dave ("any excuse" Butterz) and we met up yesterday and headed out for a nice drive and to get some shots of the cars. The shots of Chris' car can be seen on page 4 of his Mk1 build threadHere are some of the shots I took of mine (obviosuly with some 'crossover' shots where both cars are in the frame) More to come....
