Old man explains the roof in the lock up he rents has leaked, leaving deposits all over the body of his BGT, so I offer to go down there and polish it out, as I was locking up the garage after grabbing the polish and terry cloths a jumper pack caught my eye...
The 'B' in question has been sat for 7 months without being moved or even ran, so I brought a mate along for the ride as I remember the brakes were stuck on when we used it last.
So I connect the battery up, choke out, foot on clutch, crank it over, nothing, turning over nicely but no hints to say it was gonna go.
Put it in reverse, crank it, a nice bang sound to say the brakes have now freed off.
Fuel was getting through, we had spark, 1/4 tank of tale petrol, checked for any disconnected wires, HT leads were all ok, choke was in operation, more attempts, but no joy, wasn't having any of it.
So using a head of a screw driver, I tried waking the SU's up, asked my mate to give it one last go, then with a splutter and a fart, she started, that feeling when it did was magic, modern cars just don't do that for me. warmed it up, couldn't resist going for a quick 'up and down'
If my xsi had problems, I'd need a lap top to sort it out, as the ECU even controls the tick over! Retro motors are just full of character, so straight foward, couldn't plug a lap top into a B series could you
