Mmmmm! Sounds an interesting transplant. Dunno what kind of power you can get from those lumps? It'd sort your breather issues out anyway! ;D Would you go for aftermarket management or bang on a pair of 40's?!

its got a turbo bolted on the side! ideally id like to get that up and running using DTA or summink.

Turbo! Yummy! If the price is right (not sure how much these lumps go for)... go do it! ;D

nor me, cant see a 2.0 of any description being worth less than that tbh - although i will do a bit of research beforeahnd

2.0 pinto is worth about £3, and a 2.0 carlton is worth about £2.76. 2.0 petrol Bedford CF engine is worth a negative amount.
£200 doesn’t sound particularly cheap or expensive to me for a starion motor, spesh if theres no wiring or owt, has it got airflow meter, fuel pump etc? Plus you can’t hear it running, doesn’t sound very appealing to me TBH.

yeah, id rather spend £100 for a working 120bhp than £200 on a non working 180bhp

I doubt very much whether it would get near £200 on the bay.

Could you try and pick up a complete snotty Starion for about £300? It'd make the transplant easier

Could you try and pick up a complete snotty Starion for about £300? It'd make the transplant easier last i looked ever the sh*tters were going for upwards of £700. Are they really available for that little, have they come down in price loads recently?

I was guessing at the price really. And I suppose lately anything J and RWD gets the "potential drift car" label and therefore higher price tag. I reckon you could get a rough unroadworthy Starion for £300 if you trawl the local rag ads (with a huge dollop of luck thrown in!) 'tis just a guess though - maybe I'm talking bollards again (wouldn't be the first time!)

200 is easy, one of the lr lads has 450 out if his, but that ones a fairly radical motor. bit of management work and a drilled airbox will see 200 its just a bloody shame I'm curse word/scared of wiring looms or mine would be up and running

shoulnt be too hard to fit if the mounts have been made for the scort the gearbox is fairly compact. youll need a fuel tank with a return feed and an electric fuel pump. the prob with mine is that my original clutch was cable the new one is hydraulic and theres nowhere to mount the clutch cylinder because of the turbo being in the way. anyone know of a remote system or am i missing something obvious.

Add intercooler and more boost (bigger turbo?) and you should see 200. Or so i have heard Thing is, the engine pulls good in the heavy galant, so i think it would be nice in a lightweight escort!
