Hey folks, We've been knocking an idea around here at RR HQ, a series of organised meet ups at different race events throughout the UK, one a month for the race season (April-ish till October-ish). We're thinking we'll take in the HSCC SuperPrix at Brands Hatch, the VSCC big meeting at Silverstone, A Shelsley Walsh hillclimb, Brighton Speed Trials, one of the big Top Fuel drag meets at Santa Pod. Anything else, anywhere else, or any other motorsport we should be going to? A rally event? Anyone interested in this? Attending a single event or the whole series (which will be rewarded with suitable Tshirt/sticker thing I think ).

The Bergrennen in Eschdorf Luxemburg, we've been there with most of the dutch RRers for a couple of years and it's great. Also there's a great campsite 2kms from the startline. It's only a 3 1/2 hour drive from dunkerque, and the local roads are awesome. the dunkerque dover tickets are about 50-60 quid for a weekend return so the whole weekend won't be too pricey! my pics are a bit curse word but you get the idea.. this year we went to Trier for bergrennen, but we then knew why we were allways going to luxemburg.. 2009 picasaweb.google.com/berendd/BergrennenEschdorf2009#2007 picasaweb.google.com/berendd/BergrennenEschdorf#

going into europe with the RR brigade would be awsome!
imagine having a 30 car convoy and going to the ring or le mans for the historic racing. or even worthersee(however its spelt lol) or something else. What a road trip that would be.
If you go to brands ill be their.

Nice idea. Those all look pretty southern so maybe some more northern balance needs to come in? Oulton Park Gold Cup? Harewood hillclimb?

Great idea. As Seth says, it would be good to spread them out over the country to give everyone the opportunity to get to one near them.
I didn't get to half as many events as I'd like to have done this year but maybe next year I'll be able to.

Epically cool idea ;D got a good mix of different 'types' of motorsport there too.. A rally event and maybe some drifting (round of the BDC? Or JDM @ Wembley last weekend was awesome apparently) would be great additions IMO I'd be happy to help with arrangements for the Brighton Speed Trials if there's any legwork to be done (it's only down the road from me after all!) A RR Euro roadtrip to Bergrennen Hillclimb would be awesome!!

Thanks for the positive response.. we'll make sure they are spread out.. Harewood instead of Shelsley then for a start.
European trip for Bergrennen = a great idea.
ooh and a proper Drift event,.. maybe a Time Attack event also?

theres a mad motorcycle road race around a local park or mine in july, they race all sorts there!
from 200bhp superbikes to classics, supermoto, and even quad bikes!
its called aberdare park road races, search it on youtube, its mental!
plus its pretty close to the brecon beacons so a drive out before or after could be a laugh!

I'm up for that sounds like a good idea Lydden Hill, Brands Hatch, Crystal Palace and Goodwood. any other South East motorsports venues might stretch to Castle Combe. Seriously though something like a Goodwood Breakfast meet, Brands & Combe retro action days, and hillclimb at Lydden would all work, then just spread that out across the country

The Classic Touring Car Racing Club have held a Classic Festival at Lydden the past two years (every July I seem to remember), thats very much worth the trip.
Got to fit Cadwell Park in there too.

Shelsy is hopefully still on the cards as it is one of the best venue's in the country.
Why not round it off towards the end of september with the hot rod drags at shakey, great event all sorts of cars welcomed and sure RR would be greatly recived.

Where's Mr Damaged? He should be able to suggest a good rally event May I suggest Prescott at the end of June as a better hillclimb to visit? The cars there are much more plentiful and varied, watching is better, facilities are better, they have 'invited clubs' with interesting cars and if you contact them in advance they should be more than willing to organise a corner of the car park for us

Cadwell usually has a couple of good classic or vintage race meets every year. Their 2011 calender isn't up yet. It's a great circuit to spectate at. I could probably arrange camping facilities for anyone coming a long way too.
