I've been insured with Brentacre on the Capri since I restored it (cancelled the policy when it came off the road last) I paid £500 with all mods declared including the CA18DET engine so I was pretty happy. Just got a new quote as its nearly ready for the road and they want £880 and I'd need to fit a Cat 2 immobilizer first! Whats the point in no claims?? I'm 26, no motoring convictions, no points been driving 9 years and have 3 years no claims bonus ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) We've just bought a n old Mitsi Shogun as a second car ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) and the plan is for me to be insured on the Capri and Shogun simultaneously the cheapest way possible, with my girlfriend a named driver on both. Anyone have any suggestions? I wont be doing high mileage in either as Ill be splitting the driving, using the Shogun when the weather is terrible or when the Capri spits its dummy out. Brentacre have quoted me £500 in the Shogun which isnt too bad (me and the girlfriend will be splitting the shogun insurance as its a joint car) will any classic car insurance companies be cheap for my Modded capri? Not sure on the best way to go about it, Ive seen these multi car ads but I'm not sure they include 280bhp Capris? ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) ;D

Any value in having a policy in SWMBO's name instead on the Shogun?
Have you tried the usual suspects like confused.com for the Shogun. Might do better there - Brentacre are more geared up to give you a hand with the odd stuff like your Capper.
On that note, tried anyone else for the Capper? Lots of threads on here with the names of brokers to go to - Adrian Flux etc.
Finally - is your bonus still valid? It expires after 2 years of no use, sometime just 1 year.

Lancaster always do me proud with the oldies, agreed valuation etc paying about £150 for each of mine but that is on limited mileage I admit.

Footman James not always the best with modified cars, but always worth a call.
I would also seek out Peter James insurance as they are very helpful and you actually get to speak to somemone who knows about cars and insurance not a call centre type reading a script.
Also try Adrian FLux.

I got the Saab on a classic policy with Peter James, 147squids. Fully comp, unlimited miles, SDP and occasional commute, glass cover and uk/europe breakdown.
I have the IS200 with LV and that is sub £400 and I think they are covering mods again. I know LV do multi car policies because when I had my Saab turbo convertible and my Celica GT4 they gave me a renewal quote for both cars. That came in at something like £900 and the Celica had quite a lot of bolt on mods (Suspension/brakes), and MBC/Dump valve/gauges/audio upgrades etc.

Just looking at an MX5 for trackdays, with upgraded brakes, a roll bar, lowered and it's killing me on insurance. Cheapest so far £450 for TP, social only, kept in garage! Adding the wife got it down this low, without her it's £600 odd.....
And I'm 31 now so officially old! Will try a few of the one's mentioned. Seems have mods is killing the quotes I'm used to, maybe I'll strap the roll bar to the boot and only install once on the track!
