Oooo, tricky one this... Love my AMG Aero 1's. Very rare and very stylish, but an absolute curse word to keep shiney. They also cause a slight vibration through the car above 90mph (apparently ). I have just bought (very cheaply) a set of late CLK 17" rims, and the plan was to sell the AMG's as they are worth quite a bit, then use these new ones in the winter and use the money from the AMG's to buy a set of wires whilst in the states for the summer. But... I've just tried the new wheels, and they look nice, but I am just not convinced. Opinions? Before After (Only put the front on, rear wheel is Photoshopped, but you get the idea...

Hope you are not offended but prefered the old ones (and even if they are dirty) . Have you considered something along these lines ... Just a thought.

AMGs will always be favourite, but those new ones don't offend as much as I thought they would Go with the plan, as the result will be wires, and like you said, vibration, not always a good thing eh?

I know I'm probably going to be on my own here, but I like the new ones. I'm not a fan of hand polished rims, they always look too 'grey' to me (and therefore dirty) unless they're mirror finished - but then you can't use them for fear of losing the finish! I'm voting for the new ones, but I still find myself wondering if a black centre might jazzz them up a little, even if not quite in keepinf with the feel of the car.

IMO they make the car look newer than it probably is ................good thing or bad thing don't know. newer ones look classier & make the car look newer older ones look meaner & retro

I like the new ones with the black centres - very cool. The AMGs rock, but as bryn says the end result will be a set of wires, which will eclipse both sets of rims in the cool stakes! Go for it

I actually think the new wheels suit the car better - the softer edges match those of the car's bodywork. The blackened centres look good but I wonder if the contrast is too great between the polished lip & the light blue paintwork - maybe anthracite centres would look better?
