In a similar vein to the 'Neighbour's Cars' thread, it would be nice to hear what cars your friends own. I've just made a quick list and i'm suprised by the quantity and variety of cars my bunch of mates own (though most seem to be VWs) - I think we should start up our own club The cars i've included are those owned by immediate friends - the list would have been endless if i'd included cars owned by friend's of friends or by friend's parents! Heres my list (in age order ;D) 55' Supercharged Chevy Bel Air 56' Oval Beetle 62' Split Camper (ex-hippy & very rat look) 63' 997 Mini Cooper (recently restored) 64' 105e Anglia (with 1600 Mk3 GT Cortina Xflow) 65' Two-tone Beetle 70' Turbo Beetle (G.F flip front & stripped interior etc) 72' 1300 Beetle 73' VW Bay panel van (lowered, BRMs etc) 78' VW Bay Devon camper 80' 1380 Mini (G.F flip front, roll cage etc - recently damaged & to be re-built using a heritage shell) The Anglia - personal favorite The Turbo'd Beetle - dropped its cogs on the start line at RCS

DarrenW's my mate - he's got a tidy Mk1 Golf 16v ;D I've got a load more 'VW' Mates.... with such things as: 1958 VW Panel Van 1966 T3 Squareback 1972? VW Bay Camper with a big motor A couple of mate's with some quick(ish) Beetles My Girlfriend's got a 72 Bug and a 69 Buggy to go with the Type25 Caravelle Got a mate with a couple of Morgans too. other than that - retro machinery is a bit thin on the ground.... My best mate has an Integra Type R, got another mate with a Civic Type R and one with a Nissan 200SX (with the 'boot') Not really a mate, but I know a guy who is in the throes of building a Nova with a 2.0 16v lump running nitrous.... and it's held together with blu-tack (or at least it looks like it!) And of course everyone on here, those that I have actually met, and even those I haven't (unless you don't like me - then I can't class you as a mate )

I don't know many guys with retro cars, but I know one with a monster of an Imp that has the biggest Imp engine he could make, and has a really nice interior, roll cage, bucket seats, wide alleycats rims, and eats modern cars for breakfast. I also know a guy who got his hands on a mk 1 Transit that used to belong to the Ford works rally team's service crew, and had a 2-litre Pinto with a turbo as it's original engine. Too bad the shell is scrap, but he plans to put the engine into a Cortina or RWD Escort and make it itno a rally car. That and I have a friend who puts Alfa engines into Vee-Dubs, but I've already mentioned him.
