Just for a change its not a new car and its not retro but is gonna help keep a few old cars on the road. The transformer died on mine the other night so after the search for a decent 2nd hand machine drew a blank I ended up getting this. Not the best machines in the world, but it was in my price range £411 instead of £587 so t`were a bargain. Time to start using it now ;D

Thats the same model As what I have, nott bad too, trouble I find with it is the Spindle for the Wire feed is too small so my Massive Rolls of Wire don't fit.

Takes a 15kg roll so thats enough for me.
Finished welding a Citroen ZX fairly happy with the results. Standard torch was a bit pants so binned it in favour of my old one.

I'm using exactly the same, works pretty well i think for an old beast. really needs a new gun / umbilical or at least nozzles, and the earth clamp is abit shot, as are the drive rollers (it struggles with 0.6mm wire - it tends to slip occasionally.) welded most of my college project together with it. are guns pretty interchangeable?

seeing as we are talking welders, ive got a DC arc welder for sale, well it will be for sale soon, was just gonna bung it on the bay, but seeing as ive sneakily mentioned a for sale item in a non for sale section, would anyone like to register any interest, if so i'll get the whole spec of it up.
anyway once again magic electric melting super machines rock, shame i cant use the things very well.

You think the Clarke 130 is a tiddler, my first welder was a Migmate 90!

You think the Clarke 130 is a tiddler, my first welder was a Migmate 90! I bought it so I could tack stuff together then take it round to Imreallyslowme to weld up properly ;D But in actual fact it welds quite nicely......well better than the muppet on the end of the torch anyway ;D But I suppose it all comes down to practice ;D At least I know its not the welder, everytime I have borrowed them from people before there has always been something wrong with them Buying this one just removes one of the variables ;D

I've got a SIP mig mate 130. That has been pretty good for replacing most of the pannels on my mini. Its about three years old now, and its starting to give up the ghost a bit. I gave it to my brother to do some repairs to his morris minor and it ended blowing his house fuses. Time for a new on now me thinks!!

I've got a clarke too. 175TE The only complaint i've got with mine is it doesnt have a euro torch, although i've heard you can get kits to convert them. One thing i have noticed with clarke migs is on the lowest setting you can weld really thin stuff easily. I can run seam welds on 16 gauge without blowing any holes

You can convert fairly easily though, I have done with a Murex welder in the past.
