Some good stuff in there. However that warranty is a joke. Limited to first owner, 100,000 mile limit, car needs to be checked every year (probably at massive cost).

I'm quite enjoying the relentless warranty wars that are going on - who's going to be the next to offer an absurdly unrealistic warranty, studded with catches?
I really love this ad - I'd never consider buying a Kia in any circumstances (life's too short), but this advert is a work of genius.
Back to the Vauxhall ad - it's interesting to note the bit with the Cavalier jumping a line of rival cars that all have their model names on the number plates (Sierra, Montego etc). The idea of referencing rival brands is quite an American thing, but has only really been allowed in UK advertising under certain very strict circumstances. Anyone remember this Cavalier ad at all...?

nice advert, it will be interesting to see in a few years how these "infinity" waranties are holding up, or more to the point exactly how many expensive hoops one must jump through to continue the waranty

Matt it's not really a joke though, is it? Limited to first owner, encourages you to keep the car longer, nothing wrong with that. 100,000 miles is about 8/9 years of 'average' driving . Annual servicing at a main dealer is a given, and is part of any normal warranty. I doubt the cost would be higher that normal dealer servicing, that would be against the law. OK, so not 'lifetime' (what sensible manufacturer would claim that anyway), but certainly not a joke! |
