As some of you will know I bought a 90 quattro (1986 T85) a while ago now. To cut a long story short I have changed my mind and don't want to keep the car.
When I bought it there were many bits of work to be done including bodywork, diff mounts, bits of interior work.
Almost everything has been done now and the car is rapidly headed towards an MOT, and will be MOTd before swap unless a straight swap is done with a car needing a little tlc.
The car itself is zermatt silver and of course has the 2.2 KV engine, I can honestly say this is one of the nicest sounding engines in the world, I spend my life working on all variety of exotic and beautiful machinery and this engine sounds amazing.
Now my girlfriend is currently looking for a 924, ideally either a 2.0 or a turbo.
The quattro in sorted MOT'd condition is worth about the same as a well sorted tidy 924 with MOT, be it 2.0, turbo or S.
An S or 944 sadly are no good as she can't insure them at a reasonable price. I can make a 2.0 in to something special (although we would really prefer a turbo) but can't magic cheap insurance.
Due to our lucky position with me being a car nut the car can be anything from a project in boxes right up to a concourse car. Of course there needs to be some negotiation for varying conditions!! A nice turbo will be kept as just that, and any turbo (or for that matter N/A) with potential to be returned to it's former glory. A box of bits will very likely end up going 1.8T powered.
As above only looking for a swap at this stage, and only 924. Once the quattro is finished and minty good then I'll be sticking it up for sale.
