What is your vehicle owning profile like then?
The biggest proportion is the two thirds of cars I owned were British. 19% (about a fifth) of my cars have been American. The next biggest group was 7.5% were Japanese. I have never owned a French or Italian car.
24% have been V8 powered which is just under a quarter. Just 16% were FWD, the rest being RWD. 35% were automatic. 14% were less than 1300cc and 28%, twice as many, were more than 3 litres.
Only one car I ever owned was turbocharged and 100% were petrol powered.
Just under 4% were convertibles, 11% were estate cars, 13% were hatchbacks. The rest were various saloon/coupe/hardtops.
I’ve owned twice as many black cars as beige ones. Most (22%) were green, 19% were white, 15% were silver. I have only ever owned one yellow car.
A third of the cars I owned were older than I was. 85% were built pre-1990. The youngest car I ever owned is my current Omega which is a 2000(V)
My most favourite brand appears to be Vauxhall 35% of my cars having had the griffin badge (plus one Opel), the runner up being the 18.5% Fords. In all General Motors does well, as when you include all the GM brands I have owned (Vauxhall, Opel, Pontiac, Buick, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Saab) you come to 48% which is about half my past fleet. Ford is still second; BMC/BL/Austin-Rover group makes for 11% in 3rd place and Mopar places just under 10% as a creditable 4th.
The longest I owned a car is 21 years and counting.
Shortest ownership was one afternoon.
Out of my current fleet...
(1 Ford, 1 Vauxhall, 1 Buick, 1 Pontiac, 1 Plymouth.)
60% are American 40% are British (although the Omega is a little bit of a stretch on that point) 60% are V8 powered 100% are RWD 60% are General Motors 40% are green in colour 80% are automatic 40% are pre-1970 60% are pre-1980

Seems I am this bored. OK, been driving for 5 years since April 2005. Owned: 45 cars (and 3 bikes, not included) Of those... 40% were Czech 29% were German 13% French 8% British Spain, Japan and Korea take up the rest. I have never owned a Swedish, Italian or American car. 1 is pre-1980, 1 is post-2000. 29% are from the 80s 67% are from the 90s 47% were 1.3 or less 18% were between 1.3 and 2.0 36% were 2.0 or over 20% of them have been diesel. (I know, I'm ashamed too). 6% of them have been Automatic by far and away I seem to prefer red (I hate red cars ) Red 33% Blue 13%, Green 13% Black and Grey/Silver both on 8% Saloon/Sedan bodies 31% Estate bodies 29% Hatchback bodies 29% Coupe bodies 11% Mostly my cars have been Skodas with 18 = 40% Then BMWs with 13 = 29% France drives home in bronze through Peugeot at 4 = 8% Rover pops up with 2 = 4% , joined here in fourth by Mitsubishi. Then an assortment of singles of varying marques. my dearest car was a Seat Arosa 1.0S bought 4 days after passing my test for £4k + finance + bank loan to pay off finance + accident damage expenses. my cheapest car (apart from free ones) was a Skoda Felicia 1.3LXi for £17.01 which needed a wheel bearing to MOT. My longest kept car was/is my very first one, a 1987 Skoda Estelle 130LSE that I won on ebay and flew to Kent for, had it for about 6 years or maybe 7 now. My shortest kept car was most likely a Peugeot 106 1.5D 3-dr I bought earlier this year and sold 4 days later. My most valuable car is my 1930 Austin 7 Ulster, and my least valuable the Skoda Rapid I got £12 in scrap for. And not forgetting... 51% of my cars have been Rear Wheel Drive.

Hell no, I must be well over 250 cars nowmaybe much more, just cant see me going through that lot one by one, I did a post on pistonheads about 5 or 6 years ago listing all the cars i'd owned by then and it went on for a page or so..
Couldn't even guess what most of the stats are but oldest is early 1960's if you don't count the vintage car projects, newest is 2005, biggest 5.8 litre smallest 998cc there are representaives from UK, USA, Canada, France, Japan, Korea, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Sweden, and Italy haven't done spain yet, but I'm in no hurry for a Seat, I did have one for a while but it wasn't technically mine..
Most frequently owned car is probably a Capri, had lots of them, longest owned is my P5b at 15 years shortest was a mk4 escort that I bought at 3pm for £20 took the CD player out and sold it half an hour later for £100....
Most expensive was my DB6 cheapest (not including free cars) was probably the aformentioned Escrote, I'm ashamed to say I actually haggled the seller up from £10....
Only had 6 or 7 bikes, just Suzuki Honda and Triumph so far still pining for a Harley a Guzzi and a Duke..

Average build date is 1974. 88% were British 82% were RWD 11% were estates, 65% saloons, 4% convertible. 82% escaped being weighed in. White is my most popular colour, followed by yellow. 35% were created by BL, 19% by the Rootes group, 23% by ford. Most expensive was the Anglia at £550, least being the Austin 1300 which I picked up on ebay for £0.01 buy it now. Yes, that is true.
Why am I up so late?

When I started thinking about this, it's actually a bit difficult.
current Imp and Sunbeam Alpine are British, one Scottish and one English. other Imp was Australian-built British car but had German-designed Japanese engine. Hunter was an Australian-built British car Chrysler Alpine was a British-French hybrid, made in Britain, but generally regarded as French. Peugeot 505 was an Australian-built French car (made by British Leyland no less, who were the Australian importers/assemblers at the time) Peugeot 206 was a British-built French car effectively made by the Rootes Group. Golf is a South African-buillt German car Subaru and Honda were Japanese Mercedes is German.
But let's say 36% British, 27% French, 18% German and 18% Japanese
64% were from PSA (Peugeot/Simca/Rootes)
91% four cylinder, 9% rotary
60s 27% 70s 18% 80s 9% 2000s 45%
Front Engine Rear Drive 36% Rear Engine Rear Drive 18% Front Engine Front Drive 27% Front Engine 4wd 18%
all petrol, one turbocharged, one supercharged.
55% manual, 45 % auto or flappy paddle (all but one of the 45% were bought with my wife in mind!)

63 Alpine Series III 69 Imp Sport 930 07 Golf V GTI 11 Freelander 2 (hers!)

God, 70-odd cars in less than a decade, I'll be damned if I can remember them all off the top of my head!
I've had a fair few Pugs and Citroens, many of them derv-powered.
Not enough VW's IMO (only 6 . . . I think . . . )
My 5th Mazda is out on the office car park as I write.
This is a good topic Akku, I won't be able to leave this one alone.
Back soon . . . .
