... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

Sadly this ad is a scammer, 99% sure of it.
Note use of American english, zero feedback, bidders ID's kept secret... theres a lot of this going about.
The 401 is a bloomin rare engine in the UK, I looked long and hard for one when I had my AMC. One built that way is so rare as to be unfeasible.
Who ever really owned that engine had a lovely motor though.

Yeah, it does look fishy now you say... Seems an obscure item to use for a scam, tho...

Definately shifty that, I very strongly doubt that engine's ever been anywhere near Aberdeen or anywhere else in the UK, as Pillock says it's more than likely an American ad that's been copied by some scammer and slapped on ebay.co.uk with a random UK place name (there is a Danestone in Aberdeen I'm sure, but I'm yet to meet anyone who calls it 'Aberdeen City'. )

wasn't the 401 used in american mail vans? amc's finest is a 390 with a six pack in an AMX, IMO. that 401 is pretty tho...

Some of the guys on NSRA team up and put duff bids on to get his hopes up, then tell him to F*** OFF when it comes to cash parting-with time

Yeah, its common practice to pinch an ad and copy it. The 401 was the largest of the raised block AMC V8s. It has improved port design over the 390. If you are planning on building a motor with aftermarket heads (Indy and Edlebrock both do heads for the AMC in ali now) then it makes no odds except you just got an extra 11 ci. 390 and 401 were both used in AMX / Javelin and the "Machine" cars. I don't recall a factory six pack. Any more detail on that one would be cool. Usually they make little more power than a good 4 barrel but us a ton more fuel! Look hard as nails though. Most of the mail vans would have had L6 or the 290 or 304 V8 (the 290 became the 304 in the same way the 390 became the 401 when the decks were raised). Priavte sale Jeeps got the 360 usually but there were some 401s. The 401 was laso done as a truck motor and used in some school busses and the like in the US and theres quite a hobby of people in AMC circles now desperately scouring commercial vehicle juk yards looking for good AMC 401 blocks in old busses and the like as the car blocks are getting very hard to find. Indy do a complete aftermarket casting for the 401 block now though, and its in sexeh aluminium alloy. Apparently will support up to 500 cubes with a suitable stroker crank. 8 litre, all alloy AMC. Hmmmmm..... nice.... I'd shove one in a Rebel, that would rock hard.

Get two people to bid it up to £180,000,000 right at the end, then he’ll get charged a whole bumload of Ebay fees.
