The parent's is a DJ  I've got a customer with a DJ engined van with a fat turbocharger. I was too worried about braking it to drive it though Does the turbo'd van have the Schrick conversion on it? Seem to remember seeing a black one for sale with this set-up last year sometime. Other than my TD i've only driven an 8v GTi powered wedge (suprisingly pokey but under-geared for the engine) And an Oettinger WBX4 but fitted with a normal stock DJ engine - being an auto it seemed to just drift along making no fuss but felt rather lack-lustre. Seems none of the engines that are std fit into a T3 are that great - & the gearboxes become the weak link if you fit anything different with a bit more poke. That Doka looks the nuts - the combination of rims, stance & colour scheme is just so tough  Sorry Autohausdolby - I don't have photoshop or the required skills to drive it or i'd have a go with a couple of ideas  |

i bet the GTi powered jobby still had the diesel box, awful. mate of mine has a syncro that we thought was a 2.1, upon stripping it it turns out to be an Oettinger, which is nice.  |

i bet the GTi powered jobby still had the diesel box, awful. No it had the 4 speed as connected to the original DG 1.9 - it will do 80mph but at that speed the engines on the rev-limit. When I drove it, it was running very rich - luckily I was at the Spa race circuit & was able to get a whopping great backfire whilst going through the tunnel under the track after having driven down Eu-rouge the wrong way ;D |

:lol That one is actually lowered 60mm/45mm in the shot on the front page (where it's got the ambulance back door) but I was limited (and still am) by the fact that I use it for towing the race car (and camping) and for work around Sheffield's appalling roads

Cool van, I do agree that some signwriting would set it off, but I'm having trouble coming up with anything that couldn't be potentially offensive. ;D Incidentally, I take it that ambulance door on the other one came off of a middle-eastern ambulance? I ask because that red crescent symbol is an equivelant to the more well known red 'cross of five squares' as seen on the uniforms of the international red cross, St Andrews Ambulance and a few other first aid/ambulance organisations throughout the world, it's a Geneva Convention-recognised symbol whearas the red crescent is only a legitimate symbol in some Muslim countries as far as I know. Either way, I know that back door's on your old van, but you could go with the middle-eastern ambulance theme, slam it as much as practicality allows, paint it white with a red stripe and signwrite it as a 'Slambulance'. ;D Not the most original of ideas but simple and effective. |

It came off this van:  for free The only problem was it was covered in ick and red oxide, so I sanded the afflicted parts back, rattlecanned some of the white back to "krankenwagen" cream and redid the stripe in red fablon. The red crescent and phone number were done with left over fablon for added interest, so you can tell that I'm a little mischievous when it comes to my vans I like to do touches like that to see if people notice... |

Desert-Chic Ambulance for the Win!
DerbyDan.... that tunnel under the track rocked! We hooned through there in the Splitty, Turbo-Muffler tastic... specially as it wasn't fixed on properly (one of the exhaust studs was loose - so it popped, banged and spat flameage)
