This beautiful car is all over the news, so you've probably already seen it. But if not... It was a gift to the 17 year-old Diana Dors by Sir John Gaul of Monte Carlo. It's a Saoutchik one-off featuring a 165bhp 4.5-litre straight-six, and the coachwork is just, well, astonishing. Click here for the full story.

Couldn't help notice the large circular gauge on the passenger side. Thought at first it was just a clock (time) then realised it had a square clock on the far right of the dash. Now I'm thinking it's a tacho'..... strange place to put it though.

Stunning. I've not seen it before. I can't help but think that if it was on airbags it'd accentuate the "gliding" look of the car when sat closer to earth. Incredible car!

Now I'm thinking it's a tacho'..... strange place to put it though. That's the speedo. The driver only needs the tacho! It is a sporting car, after all. Seriously, if you're driving this thing then you can afford to pay the speeding ticket, and you probably wouldn't be given one anyway.

Saoutchik coachwork is fantastic. This car is reminiscent of the Figoni & Falaschi bodied Delahaye 135: And Bugatti Type 57: A subject for a separate thread, methinks... Couldn't help notice the large circular gauge on the passenger side. Thought at first it was just a clock (time) then realised it had a square clock on the far right of the dash. Seriously, if you're driving this thing then you can afford to pay the speeding ticket, and you probably wouldn't be given one anyway. So, to check the speed, you'd have to lean over a 17-year old Diana Dors in the passenger seat? Oh well...

Amazing to think that that car spent 30 years of its life with an Olds Toronado engine and FWD!!!
What an astonishingly, jaw-droppingly beautiful machine. Anybody got the £4,000,000 it's expected to fetch at auction a week on Saturday???

Those cars are almost art deco in their style. I love the aero styled coach built road liners. They are the ultimate show of opulence.
