Hiya, welcome along. I was going to suggest weight reduction too - sounds like you are doing pretty well in your 0 - 60mph quest already though, those Volvo's much be pretty quick on the road even with the autobox. I reckon some good tyres and dump the back seat, spare wheel and jack to save weight and you'll be well on for 7 secs!

I am now also looking at a camo/military type paint job too!! Damn you Penski! Nice one. Penski's mission to convert the whole of OCUK's membership to nato green retro rides takes a step closer to completion...

I won't rest until Fox sells his Mondeo and admits that there is more to choosing a car than cup holders, optional extras and how many stars it gets in What Car. *n

Volvo love. ;D Strip it. All the extra trim weighs a bit. I reckon on the stuff I've ripped off of mine weighed about the same as me! Don't forget, snow camo for the real Swedish style.

What size/type of turbo do these volvos have?
Obviously a bigger one would break the budget, but just curious.....

Regarding the actuator: do you have a bleed valve between the actuator and the turbo? Can you not just adjust this to get the actuator to kick in later? Or am I missing something?

I am already playing with this via the bleed valve, but the actuator wont hold PSI solidly above 6. the spring in the actuator does not provide the same resistance it once did!! In regards to the turbo, they run a T2 iirc, and some people have done a hybrid T25 jobby on them.

May i sugest adding a bigger intercooler. Just fitted a saab one to my flatmates 200sx , all that was needed was a bit of hose. also, u may want to add more fuel (need a resistor, its like 20p! 10-15psi should be ok for the standard fuel pump)as to much air not enough fule = melted pistons! Run it on optimax to, helps prevent knoking. youll be laughing

I'm going to be using higher octane fuel though I'm going to see my mate tommorrow, hes going to help me adjust the pre-load to see if i can stop it venting from 10-6 on power Fingers crossed eh!!

the advantage the octane normally gives is through advance, but this is a turbo car and that extra octane means more BOOST!!!!
