I dropped the TA into a local place to get the tracking and balancing done, and thought the most notable thing was the shop "yoof" asking the boss "do we have time to fit in a tracking and 4 wheel balance on a... a... a... a... whatever that is..." but nope. Same yoof managed to put my car into the wall whist manoeuvring it. Bodyshop chap is coming to assess it tomorrow to get it repaired on their dollar. Damage is all minor cosmetics and confined to the nose cone. You know, now I'm so glad I didn't spend all Sunday polishing up the paint and waxing it... At least the horrendous vibration appears to have been traced to loose wheel nuts. Meh, I'd be more embarrassed if I'd owned the car long enough for that to be down to me... Have some mojo inspiring photos.

Argh. Well as long as they're going to put it right, using a bodyshop and not having said yoof set about it with some emery paper and a rattle can, it's all good.
Will you be at the Griffin this Weds in it?

Sucks, AK. If you need anything from a fellow 'Yakker, speak up. The dealerships are just about gone now. So new parts are going to start getting tricky-er. Norm

i have got to say AK you seem remarkably calm about it all,if it was me ,yoof would probably be nursing a nose bleed and i'd be up before the beak in the morning on a gbh charge ;D hope it all gets sorted for ya !

The "yoof" had been sent home early, just in case. Do I look like the sort of person who would kick off over some minor panel damage? So long as they sort it, they will continue to get my custom. Accidents happen and theres no indication they'd been arsing about in it or anything.

fair play,if he had been twatting it around I guess that would have been a different matter.theres nothing like seeing your own car fly down the road front tyres smoking as you go to collect it after an mot to make the blood boil !!

I like the way you're giving us mojo-inspiring pics when you're the one who's had his pride & joy crumped by a YTS 'erbert. Chubbied (as they'd say on another forum) for your mindset, sir.

if it had chrome bumpers they'd be in for a rechrome bill. If it had caught a metal panel not the rubbery nose cone, possibility of more annoyance. If it were original paint on a "survivor" car I'd be proper upset. You keep your feelings proportional. And I've spend the day fighting 4 different divisions of BT over a circuit commissioning which is like 2 weeks late so I've plenty of other suckers to take a bad mood out on. I check the miles when I drop off. It hadn't been anywhere but in their yard. I do a few cars there and they always treat me right. You'd be an ass to go off the deep end over a genuine accident.

Good one on keeping the cool... Once was at a tyre place, and a well-heeled geezer was at the till forking out for whatever was done on his rather new Bimmer. Tyre place lad comes hairing in driving an old beaten Granada, hits anchors & slides on the glossy floor, smacks hard into said Bimmer... the look on the guys face at the till...

Ahh cripes, how frustrating! Hope they sort it to a suitable standard I had a tyre place de-paint a wheelarch once - annoyingly they didn't mention it but left me to notice when getting in the car to leave! I marched straight back in and demanded an explanation only to be met with denials & faux-surprised expressions! I demanded to see the Manager (who was very good about it all to be fair) and explained the situation.. He asked the fitters which bay my car had been in then went for a look around, measured the height of my arch from the ground and found matching paint, at the same height scraped across a concrete bollard outside the bay my car had been in! RUMBLED! Innocent, minor accident = no problem, we've all done it. Lying, not accepting responsibility = not the thing to do! He took my details and called a week later to arrange the repair, which I must say was done absolutely perfectly, couldn't even see it afterwards ;D all being well things will end similarly for you dude
