So there I was this afternoon, heading out for a meeting. Got less than half a mile from my house when I spot an intriguing roofline... ...that Audi that's on eBay! So I stop, knock on the door... The owner wasn't there so I took some pics and left a flyer! I was half an hour late for my meeting luckily the guy it was with is a bit of a petrolhead too so didn't mind too much!! Hmm... pop rivets and filler...

That rear end looks a bit rusty,.. Hmm Great that you are near it,.. you may be asked to go and check it out more for me ,.. depending on what the price does.

It doesn't look as good as it does on ebay............! That rust round the front screen could be serious!

I don't want to slag it off too much cos I left a flyer and the guy might start browsing on here, but it looks like a serious project... I bet half those panels are unobtainable!
It's a shame, cos it looks like a previous owner has tarted it up by slapping loads of filler on - not even caring about the pop rivets holding it together, and giving it a shiney paint job.
One for the brave, I feel! As tempted as I was when I first saw it, I think I'd steer clear...
BUT if anyone wants me to go back and get more pics/find out more, I can... I'm around in Widnes until Friday afternoon...

Perhaps the one in the brambles nearer here might be a better idea ,.. Or the automatic one from Germany

I don't think it'll be that hard to get panels / parts TBH, I found quite a few bits on ebay (UK and German site).
The sills look like they've already been done, it would just be a new tailgate and valance from the inital look. You should be able to salvage the spoiler from the knackered tailgate so it could be grafted on to a new one - or it could be used as a template for a steel one to be fabrictaed.
It'll only need cosmetics, but the one under the brambles will need everything!

The windscreen worries me a bit,.. new tail gate and valance arn't a HUGE barrier,.. but windscreen surround would be an issue,.. and whatever else was hiding under that glossy paint work,..
As you say though the sills look like they've been done (properly),..

looks like it was probably done a long time ago and pop rivits and filler was the way of doing that sort of mod then and infact still is today with the body kits ect the oler ones just look better some of the body mods look like one off fabricated stuff and i think the overall look works well would be nice to see it restored back to how it was when first done

I don't know about parts being unobtainable, you could always join an owners club. I mean, I can't get some Imp parts anywhere else but the Imp Club, and yet they seem to have everything. Besides, I thought most of you were into fabricating stuff, you could always make your own panels and stuff!
