As you are probably aware i've not long finished doing the engine conversion on my Subaru Brat & I now love the way it goes, also love the truck to bits but another really cool retro has come onto my radar which i'd really like to have...... ;D The only problem is the truck would have to go to finance the new vehicle & i'm in two minds as to which way I ought to go? Do I keep the truck as its all finished or start on another cool project thats almost a blank canvas? Don't want to give the game away as to what i'm looking at at the moment, just could do with some words of wisdom from you guys here as to which way to go...... Thanks Tim.

After youve put so much time and effort into the brat it'd be a shame to not have time to enjoy it. It depends on what the other vehicle is though, the coolness of whatever it may be might make up for not having time with the Brat.

Will you ever get a chance to get another of the one you are thinking of getting? If so don't do it and get some fun out of the one you have put all the effort into.....maybe lol.

It must be one hell of a project car to make you even consider selling the Brat. But if its a once in a life time opportunity then go for it mate. And if you sale the Brat to some one on here then you have the chance to buy it back.

Toss a coin for it.
No, seriously. Decide that heads you keep it, tails you sell, that's what happens. Then flip the coin, look at the result. If you are happy, it is right. If you are a bit gutted, it's wrong.
I use this method sometimes...

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

Thanks for all the advice so far,I'm gonna go & have a look at the other retro tomorrow night, then have a think & make my mind up! It is a once in a lifetime opportunity with the possible new purchase,I've not seen another in this condition or price come up before & that's probably why I'm keen to see it & make my mind up on whether to buy it or not. I will keep you posted on developments after tomorrows viewing! Tim..

Well i went over & looked at the other retro i was considering buying tonight & i took Si(B8D) with me as 2 pairs of eyes are better than one & i value his opinion & thoughts on this type of vehicle as its American & he knows a fair bit about em! The bottom line i came to was it was a really cool motor & i did like it but it didn't tick all the boxes after we both looked over it for over an hour & when i came back from the test drive i didn't have the grin on my face i expected to have so i've decided to pass on it & stick with the Brat ;D Here's a photo of the said retro,a 1975 Plymouth Sport Voyager van just so you can all see....... Tim.

just to say.. its a very cool wagon and very tidy too worth the asking price as it would be hard to find a better one..
but as i said to tim.. if it don't quite do it for him then don't buy it.. he has a very cool pickup anyway so no fail there!!
but damn.. if only i had a spare few thousand id have it!!

I'm quite glad you decided against it, what I was trying to say before FB chat had a hissy fit was that the truck is very much you and you should have some time with it to enjoy it. Saying that though they are to very different beasts and hard to compare. Just my 2p anyway

Didn't that belong to Bryn at some point?
As said above, it is a cool motor....very cool, but if it didn't stop you in your tracks then it'll never be worthy of replacing the Brat. And we all know how much you love your pick-up (so do we). And how much work has gone into it. And how you'd never be able to recreate it at a later date.
