when did they get so cheap? I'm finding models at £800. and a good majority in the 1 to 2k bracket? although that is for the 1.8/2.0gti version...the vr6 is still steep. i drove them when they were brand new....the vr6 was amazing performance, totally blew me away.....i loved my scirocco but id kill for a corrado ;D

The Corrado really grew on me after I had custody of a G60 for the day. They're such a blast! Feels nicely familiar in a Mk2 Golf kinda way, but lower and sportier. Such fun... I didn't want to give the keys back at the end! They are pretty cheap at the moment (I think the G60 and VR6 models hold their value more), but bound for retro-status before too long.

I saw an ABSOLUTELY MINT white VR6 one the other day, totally stock. Parked up outside the post office where I send all my eBay tat from ;D It looked great, yet white doesn't normally do anything for me on modern coupes...

Drove back from No-Rice with 2 mates - me and one other in our 1800 8v Roccos, the remaining in his recently acquired 2.0 16v 'Rado. I think he was a little disheatened when we kept leaving him at 60 to < ahem > speeds... 'til we 'allowed' him to use 4th gear Still wasn't *that* much in it - big heavy buggers they are.

They are a little on the lardy side for my tastes, but still a spanking motor.
The argument stands though, Ford Probe, Toyota Celica GT4 or Corrado?
I know what I'd rather be seen in

Hey Ed, What happened to the Bimmer plans? Corrado action may be all well and good, but meh, rear wheel drive son... Come on. Advance apologies to all those Corrado owners, I did blow the top off a G60 charger once, so I've been there and phoned Jabbasport... ;D

Hmm... Corrado's are nice. I've only every driven a G60 but was suprised how much better it handled and turned in compared to my Mk2 8v GTI Golf at the time. They do feel much lower and sportier. Having driven a 2.8 VR6 Golf and being impressed, I would imagine the 2.9 VR6 Corrado is a flyer! As for whether to choose a 1.8 16v Corrado over an E30 BMW, well, depends if you like RWD or not I suppose. I had my first drive in a pals E30 325i Sport the other week and I have to say if I wasn't such a die hard VW fan I would sell up and get myself one, fantastic car! Definitely on my future shopping list.

If it's a choice between a 16v Rado and an e30 325 - then the 325 gets it... now a VR6 Rado.... mmm...

I know what I'd rather be seen in That's easily solved. Strip that bad boy to the bone. Loose the seats, trim, sound deadening, headlining. Who's lardy now! Mwahahah ahahahha ahahah

One of those cars that looks just so right. But sadly lardy and underpowered. Mind you a supercharged VR6 Carrado would be something special.
