need to be used on private land... don't want anyone collecting a shed load of points! They are Mechanically Propelled Vehicles, therefore the law applies to them!!! sorry... I swear that depends on the power output, if I remember correctly anything with a motor under something like 200 watts requires no license. If that wasn't the case those electric bicycles, electric fold up scooters as well as little kids electric cars would require licenses.

think someone should photoshop this so hes infront of some bikers, or on a racetrack. ;D Oh yeah. theres forums for motorised bikes. the americans use high power RC motors and fancy electronics. As stated before. your only allowed upto 200 watts on a 2 wheeled machine, in the uk. So putting more power on it, would not be allowed

I think you mean over 200watt means you need license/tax/helmet, not that more power is not allowed.

Grizz, get a washing machine motor on it with a fan belt drive train. 24volt battery + washing machine motor = WIN

I think the law is also different depending on if its an electrically assisted vehicle or an elctrically powered one, there are speed limits as well.

It's 180W. Over 180W you need to license the vehicle as a moped or whatever and display tax disc, numberplate and insurance. Under 180W and it's fine.
