This might have been done before but i'm curious as to how we all ended up finding Retro Rides. I stumbled upon it by accident while i was looking for info on the Classic Ford show after getting back from night of fire in 2004. Funny really cos i'd never even been on a forum before this place but i still joined up more or less straight away. I think it was one of rev9's lada threads that sold it to me ;D ;D ;D

I originally found Retro-Rides back in March (?) 2004, after I Googled "Modified Classics Forum", looking for some like-minded souls after doing some work on my W115 Merc. I registered but it wouldn't let me log in for some reason, so I kind of forgot all about it. Then me and my bro (street) went to RCS 04, had an excellent time and got all inspired, and found the RR flyer under the wiper of the Merc. I re-registered, it worked, and I've been unable to stay away ever since! ;D

Christoff, aka Scrapingscrap pointed me in this direction just over a year ago whilst he fixed my 'pooter and I jiggled his Merc 560 starter motor about. Ahh, good times...
I've never been active on a forum before (some may say I'm still not), but this place is addictive. Like your favourite car magazine, but it's free and you get to interact with like minded people. The simple layout, open minded approach of the members and incredible knowledge base that exists really sold me on it though, and long may it continue to do so. ;D

I'm glad you all came along! .. I started the forum because there was no where to talk about the cars I wanted to talk about,.. I'm always interested to hear how people found out about the place. We do the flyering at Retro Cars Show,.. and have had a few magazine features (Retro Cars x2 (or 3), Practical Classics and Performance VW). Beyond that though I think it must mostly be word of mouth. Maybe once I've got V2.0 finished I'll get some more mentions in magazines sorted.

I'd never really bothered with forums before because they all seemed a bit too narrow minded. Then I found RR while googling for Skoda info. No danger of narrow-mindedness here I thought....and I've never looked back!
