Hey Guys,
Currently looking at new rims for my Gemini Coupe (T car styles, like a Chevette/Kadett). Anyway, there are two offsets avaliable for the rims I want, +40 and 0. I know the +40 will fit just fine under the arches, no rubbing or anything, but the 0 just had much more dish!!
So what I'm trying to find out is, if I used the 0 offset rims on my car how far will they stick out??? I'd love to do this but I also wanna lower it down down down too.
These rims are 7". So if anyone has had any experience with low offset rims on a T-platform car, let me know!

Zero offset means the mounting face of the wheel is directly in the centre of the rim - an even amount of 'dish' either side. A 7" rim is actually about 8" from rim edge to rim edge (the width is measured between the insides of the rim - where the tyre bead sits). It's only a rough guide but with those calculations your rim edge should sit about 4" out from the hub face. Remember that if it's a tight fit, and your comfortable with it, then tyre stretching and/or a touch of negative camber can create a bit more clearance for you. Failing that, buy the biggest/widest wheels you can and bolt on some funky arches! ;D

You'll get about an inch of protrusion on a Chevette axle...BUT!
...What axle does your car run? Most GM axles are wider and only the 1.2s came with the narrow axle.

I'm not sure on what axle I'm running, I had always imagined that the chevette and Gemini ones would be similar in width. Maybe I'll have to make a mock up of the wheel and see where it stands. I think I could deal with 1" and chuck on some little flares.

Yeah but you'll be running a Hilux LSD diff rear end at some stage dude so you'll have to take that into consideration.

Yeah, but the hilux will be built to the same width as a regular gemini diff remember. Shouldn't change the offset at all

I already have an Import Gemini ZZ/R LSD disc-brake diff, but I broke it. And the piazza/zzr centers are impossible to find. Plus, i'm chasing 150+ hp at the rear wheels, going to need something a bit more solid
