Hey guys, hope you won't mind my story......
I've always been mad-keen on cars (currently do nationals in R/C cars), and all my mates back when I was 15/16 were saying what cars we wanted when we passed the test.
As soon as I turned 17 I got a provisional license, and took a few lessons to gett he basic car control before going out onto the roads with my Dad in his 340 (rare Volvo bodykitted version! Sold it for a Mundano ). But I went into college which was within walking distance from me and learning to drive took a back seat (financially with the R/C racing, thats bloody expensive).
Now I'm out of college, 20, and I want a nice retro Mk2 Jetta.
On to my question.
Back when I was at school, all my mates and their older brothers and sisters said that the insurance cost goes down when you're 21.
Does that only apply if you've got a full license? I'm 21 in October, so I'm wondering whether to get my test ASAP and take a kick in the balls for the quote, or wait until my 21st.
