Nearly finished my project now. All mechanical work is done - had respray two months ago- she's mot's and taxed - £90 fully comp a year. Just had it tuned up too - waiting for a 1.7 8v to be dropped in very soon too! Going to some Alfa and Italian shows - but would like to get to some retro car meets and shows. Would love to have done the London one that was in this months Modified Retro Mag.

That is fantastic! My first Alfa was a 1.3Ti series 3 sud. The car I wished I never sold.
Should be a little beast with the 1.7

I like Suds anyway but that is a bit special. Get yourself along to www.alfaowner.com and tell 'em Keithyboy sent you. There is a section for Suds and Sprints on there too. Did you buy it with the kit on?

I am on the Alfa Forum too - I love most retro and classic cars that's why I'm in here as well. My user name is Rat Trap.
Yes the kit was on the car when I bought it. It is a 1 of 30 specials as I am aware of that was built in 1984. The kit was fitted by Alfa Romeo and the whole car was properly waxoiled and preserved. When I bought it it was a wreck mechanically but there was no welding ever done on the car. I was the first to weld the cracks on front struts because the car is so stiffened not due to rot.
The kit was a £1600 extra on top of the dealer price as far as I can assertain. £1600 was alot of money in 1984 especially when the car was £5k car!
I am so pleased with this car - only trouble is now - I need a new project but wifey will not let me. I have absolutely no plans to sell this sud. I will garage her over winter and put the 1.7 boxer in in good time. I just found my original thread just now and added to it. You can see the cars previous pictures there.

I like the Sud a great deal, got a mate who's got 2 (one much less crashed than the other) and has had at least one other in the past, great little cars!
And practical too, who'd've thought you could get a boat in the roof.........
