The panhard rod on the micra has two different sized fixings at the ends, on the body its mounted in double shear with a 12mm diameter fixing, on the axle single shear with a 17mm diameter.
I plan to make a tubular panhard rod with adjustability from a rose joint in a threaded insert at one end. I'd like to use a 12mm joint so that it will fit on the body end with the addition of a couple of conical spacers. I'd like to use a 12mm because this it the largest tap I have and will keep the cost down.
Do you think that a 12mm (bore and thread) rose joint will be up to the job, or should I go bigger and make some reducers for the body end, or try and get something big enough to fit on the axle end (there don't seem to be 17mm joints in existence.
