Hi all,
First post here, and I've got a problem! Someone has stolen my beloved Mk1 1967 Austin Mini (called Lucio - after her registration, LUO 847F).
I've had her since I was 21, and we've been through the wars over the years - she was stolen 10 years ago, and despite only being an 850cc, she had a white roof, so some clever tea leaf used her as a get away car from some heist or other and drove her into a grass bank.
Thereafter ensued a complete body restoration when I was able to afford it - and she's been used for holidays and high days after that.
She was stored in a 'secure' garage in Warminster, Wiltshire and was found missing last Wednesday. Last I saw her was in April when I was planning to take her on the London-Brighton - but unfortunately other things got in the way of that road trip.
She's a completely standard Austin Mini in Almond Green. Steelie wheels with standard trims, green interior, black carpets. Manual remote change (been modified from an automatic at some point, so doesn't have the magic wand change). The engine and transmission were painted green by my cousin, but bless him, not in the correct BMC shade - so this anomaly is pretty obvious to any Mini fantatic.
The family (and my 5 year old daughter) are particularly eager to get her back, so if anyone can help, that'd be hugely appreciated!
Will post pictures once I get them off my home PC...
Thanks all!
Thanks - and I hope so too!!!
Right, some pix:
Full frontal!
Rear 3/4:
Interior (this really is a very standard car - but note the gear lever position - giving away the remote gear change from the magic wand you might expect):
Engine bay - wrong colour green for the engine - I was going to repaint it and then detail it - but the tea leaves have put paid to this plan (hopefully only temporarily):
And a final parting shot:
These pictures and a few others can be found here - www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/lucio/ and I may scan in some of the resto pictures for completeness...
Fingers crossed we can get her back - but goodness knows where she's gone? I hope not to be broken to build another Cooper replica (love Coopers, but just nice to keep a reasonably standard car now and again, if you know what I mean).
If anyone can help, any information is gratefully received!
