Right folks RR v2.0 is STILL in the works. I'd hoped to get all the hosting moved over a month ago,.. in fact I did have the new host set up. However I'm having HUGE problems sorting out the moving of the domain name and updating of the DNS (for those technical people). In the mean time I'm still designing and programming the new site and forum. I'll be putting it into a beta test at some point soon(ish) so I may well be calling on some people to give me a hand with that. The forum will be unlike any forum you've ever used (which I think should be a good thing), for those that deal with web stuff my hint to what I'm up to is this : When I say RR2.0 I mean 2.0 My Retro-rides.com email address has now gone as my old host is gradually closing off things,.. the website will go soon. I'm at a bit of a loss what to do with the DNS stuff, but I'll think of something. I'm sorry to those that sent me galleries of images to put up, I was hoping to get them online over a month ago and send out a new newsletter at the same time ...

Is that a 2.0GL or 2.0 Ghia? Perhaps be cooler if we could have gone straight to 3.0, or even 5.3?
Anyway, thanks HoTWire for your continuing hard work behind the scenes.
With regard to galleries, I was thinking of getting you the rest of my scrapyard pic's to put into one, and perhaps extract all those I've already posted. Does that sound like a sensible idea? I've still got in mind my other little wheels project as something for this site.

...and hold down a day job...and move house...and go on holiday to Japan! Indeed... I'm sure I speak for us all when I say we're excited about what's coming, and we all understand and are happy to wait as long as it takes. Anticipation ;D

will it be a case of re-resitering? So all the member who have long since departed will be left behind, or will the whole members list just be copied over?

Kind of half and half... I'm going to get the moderators to do some work ... which will include copying over user names and email addresses... then people will be emailed that the new forum is up and they have an active account. All the old posts will have to stay here, so we'll be starting from scratch on post count

w00t, so excited! thanks hotwire for all the work you've been doing towards V2. good thing is we can all registered the names that we've changed to since originally signing up. *thinking...* on the Admin CP can't the post counts be changed, so we can transfer over our existing ones?

Nigel, would you like some space and a password on my server so you can upload your own stuff whenever you want? - it might save David some time too. I have plenty of space and bandwidth available.

How about using FlashGot or a similar spider prog to archive all the old forum so we can use it as a resource?

lol so when do you think we will be on the new version. How come it took so long for the DNS records to update (I guess this was out of your control anyhow)
